So, we live in a time that seems to lack any great ideas to strive for. What are yours? :)

What I wanted to pick wasn't on there, which is "education". I believe it is paramount, above all else, to seek the best possible education for our children. Without an educated society we cannot advance.

i have many that i think are important. science, art, progression of our society to address sustainability, peace, and a global equilibrium that we can use to advance as a species.

The maximization of human well-being, which one could argue that this falls under the science category.

In my bio ... yet it be interesting to see what posters select or if they even think about it.

Relgion/spiritual beliefs, family, survival-related issues, science.

I take my spiritual beliefs very seriously and try to live what I believe.

I value my family highly and spend considerable time and energy on them, most especially my son. I think this is one of the most important things in life.

I have a long standing interest in things relating to survival issues, including crime prevention and self-defense as well as being prepared for local or regional disasters like hurricanes, quakes, wars and economic collapse.

Science, and technology, are facsinating to me. The advancements of science have enabled us to live longer, fuller lives with greater comfort and less pain, more travel and interaction and knowlege and understanding, and so I value science highly.

All of the above. If I were to pick a single overarching ideal, though, it would be cultivation-- the improvement of our species and our civilization in qualities we find desirable.

Maybe i'm just short-sighted, but I think most people should focus on cultivation as an individual first and foremost.

Of course. I can't do much of anything for the rest of the species while I'm such a mess.

I strive to better society as a whole. Since I was a child, I have wanted two things: to be a marine and to become a great political leader. I am not stuck to one party as that slows down improvement. I care nothing of money or class. I just want to die knowing that I have changed the world for the better.

Science, technology, and international development.

That's cool.

Even more so since it wasn't an option, and you said that anyway.

A refreshing purity.

That's a good one.
I guess I couldn't pack everything in a 10 lines poll.

With all the materialism, consumerism and fascism that are spreading around the world right now, it's refreshing to see stuff like that. :)

To some degree yes.... but if you wait until you near perfection to do for others, you'll never get around to it. :)

Most of us dare not dream to change the world in any noticeable fashion... but if you do what you can for people you encounter, you are doing all most of us can do. Changing even one life for the better is a star in your life's crown.
