What do you think of the new definition?

This is something I do not understand. Being a racist is bad. Being a race baiter is bad. Why do we need a relative scale as to which is worse? Just do not be either, and condemn both when confronted by them.

Damn, beat me to it!

in my opinion ,hatred of other ethnicities may be easily called racism.you dont have to believe that your race is superior in order to be a racist.on the other hand , negative criticism of a race or expression of a fact which belongs to any ethnicity doesnt mean racism..

racism:

1. the belief that a race is inferior to another race.

2. hatred, prejudice, & bigotry against another race.

Line one is just stupid. Look at the word "racist" it just does not fit with #1 as it is to all encompassing.

It will not hurt man in the least to be far more positive than he is now.
There is but one race - the human race.
I think that this "philosophy" will help us get over this difficult time (far too much hatred and fear)

One would think so, but the way some have phrased their responses in this and other recent threads I was starting to wonder.

i thought "racist" was now officially a synonym with "conservative"???

gosh, i'm so embarrassed....

Okay, CPWill...if you insist! :lamo

Just joshin...kind of, sort of, maybe....

Kal'Stang - Suggestion

I think that there needs to be a clearer distinction between "BIGOTRY" and "RACISM" by the OP. Then post both definitions as you perceive them to be.

I say this because: All racists are bigots. But not all bigots are racists. And I see a lot of people posting something that might referencing to things that might be more in the line of "bigoted" as opposed to racist.

thanks....

Sadly in today's crybaby society, a "racist" is anyone of a different race that disagrees with you about anything. Every time you turn around someone is squealing "racist" or "racism"

Let me know what you think about this new definition for "racist". Mind you, please keep in mind today's social and political climate.

Racist:

1: Anyone that says or does anything even remotely or subjectively negative towards someone that is not of their race.

2: A belief that your race is superior to that of another race.

The definition of racism is the same as its always been. If people use it incorrectly, then correct them. Anybody who complains about the "new definition" of racism just has victim complex.

this is a statement often made by folks looking to disregard legitimate accusations of racism.

This is a statement often made by those with the intelligence to understand that if you constantly cry "racism" people are much less likely to take you seriously when true racism occurs.

Remember the tale of the boy who cried wolf

It's easy when the accusations are petty and obviously based on personal animosity instead of any real factual basis.

No - American conservatives, surely, are mad in all sorts of other ways too?
