I am quite amused at how many people are being apologists for the man, and claiming he is not racists, yet admitting that everything he does is racist. Spare me.

you are confusing the admission that he is a race-baiter, with him "doing" racist "things".

they are not the same thing.

Well that is certainly an interesting spin. Here, to help you out, why don't you go back, look at the definitions of racism posted in this thread, and see if you can make Sharpton fit without too much contortion. Once you prove that he is a racist, then you can actually start claiming others are defending him. Hint: people calling him scum, asshole, a bad person, worthless, etc, are probably not defending the guy, but objecting to an incorect characterization. I know, who would want to actually be honest in politics, certainly not you, not when you can attack some one you don't like.

Voted yes assumming that the poll should have actually asked if he was bigot. A racist believes those of other races are inferior. He might be a bigot.

What he definitely is is a race merchant. He makes oodles of cash promoting divisive issues...well, creating divisive issues. Surprised anyone even listens to him anymore, he certianly is the "boy who cried wolf."

To reiterate:

If a black man like Al Sharpton who race-baits as a profession isn't a racist, then the same holds true for any white man who race-baits as a profession as well.

He and Jesse Jackson are opportunists who play the black community like a fiddle.
