On a scale of 1-10, 10 being all the way, how PC are you?

6 or 7 maybe..... Kinda hard to judge

I'm not aware of it actually.

what, no quiz?

Non. But, I do have enough discernment to known it is simply not worth the hassle and drama to say what I really think all the time. Having said that, there are times that PC needs to be challenged.

I do it when I have to... and even then sometimes I forget.

the mere mention of the words politically correct/political correctness make me shiver... and in a bad way! hahaaa:2razz:

I must be a 2 or a 3 the max

political correctness is lame.

no matter what you do someone will be offended,so theres no point in renaming words just to prevent it.

It depends on how badly we want to troll Empirica.

You need some negative numbers in order for me to vote.

In terms of generally not being a dick I would say 8 or 9, in terms of sense of humor I would need to go into negative numbers.....

It generally depends on what I am doing and where I am. I do not begrudge a person for wishing to have their feelings or beliefs respected, but, not at the cost of my rights. For example, during the holiday season I donate my time to the local public schools for performing "songs of the season". Nothing religious, but, I play "Santa Baby" as it is a fun song.

Someone got their nose out of joint because the name Santa was being said so my response was, I could change the song from Santa Baby to Satan Baby. After that I did not hear another word...

Santa Baby >>> Satan Baby!!!!!! BWAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA:lamo

Not very PC at all. I tend to call things the way I see them, then let the chips fall where they may. ;)

I am always correct.

Politics is no exception.

Wherever you live.

If you live abound, on average.

Well I mean am I at a bar with the boys? Probably so unPC that there has to be some hyper active PC person to counter me. Am I at class or work? Probably pretty PC, like a 6, because there is a certain level of professionalism expected there.

I believe in being blunt. If the words that I use to do so is considered offensive then oh ******** well. I will censor myself if where I am at has rules against un-pc words (like here at DP :) ) but out in the open I don't care. I'll even give my kids a couple of swats on the butt or a Gibbs slap if they misbehave in a store. No one has yet to report me. ;)

Because of the rule bit I rated myself as a two.

3 or 4 maybe? Though I tend to consider it basic politeness rather than political correctness.

For those of you that don't know what a Gibbs slap is I present you with....

I'm surprised at the results so far on the poll. People are always telling we I need to watch what I say or I should be more polite, etc... but I believe in calling it like it is. I am also not very good at faking it.

I struggled between 3 and 4 because I do have to be PC in one of my jobs because I am in a position where all the patrons can hear me and we can't risk offending anyone. Other than that I pretty much say what I feel.

I think that the reason so many people here feel the same way because we like to engage and have to say how we feel in order to participate in the threads.

A numerical value is pretty pointless with any sort of baseline for comparison. One hand, I don't like the PC euphemisms that futilely attempt to modify behavior by changing terminology. On the other, I can't stand people who try and forestall criticism of their bigotry by whining about political correctness.

Not remotely.

Just wanted to add , these PC people usually have good intentions and would like the creation of a perfect world where everybody loves each other, there is no war, famine or pestilence and the sun shines 24 hours a day. And the way to achieve this is being nice to each other but ignoring the fact that a lot of people won't be nice to you in return and will take advantage of you.

In other words the politically correct tend to be naive, inexperience in life and live in their own little dream world.

Wakey, wakey brothers and sisters! ;)
