tidbit I had earlier forgotten, but is worth noting. In "The Millionaire Mind", the authors polled set after set after set of American Millionaires to determine outlier characteristics in that subset of American society. Under the questionaires designed to determine what millionaires believed had helped them the most in their achieval of success, the number one characteristic was "Integrity". "Social Skills" and "Hard Work" both scored in the top five, but below Integrity.



Which is perhaps to be suspected. One of the many benefits of a freer market is that it tends to provide greater financial rewards for morally positive behavior than alternatives.

American workers seldom put pay at the top of their list for job satisfaction, either, but start underpaying your people by $5 an hour or more and see what happens. Few people have an honest view of themselves.
