Vote for an atheist president (for religious people)

Would you vote for an atheist president with your views?

  • Yes, I would, his beliefs shouldn't matter

    Votes: 52 89.7%
  • No, he needs to believe in God, even if he agrees with me

    Votes: 6 10.3%

  • Total voters
    58
It's a tough poll because I don't vote. Voting is as meaningful as a prisoner voting for his next prison warden. Does it matter?

From his lips to God's ears. Or is that Allah's?

Um he said in that video that he is a Christian, so whats your point? Let me guess you believe that when he mistakenly said Muslim instead of Christian he must really be Muslim right? I hope you really are not going to assert that, because that would be as pathetic as those Truthers.

Oh, nothing of the sort.

The left is pretty much all atheist. Vote for Obama.

We should bow to your superior intelligence. You know more about the left than any liberals do. You know more about Obama's religion than he does.

It must be because of the Borg.

Scotty, beam me up.

I suppose next that you are going to ask: “It’s 3am and your children are safe and asleep.
But there’ s a phone in the White House and it is ringing.
something is happening in the world
your vote will decide who answers that call.
whether it is someone who already knows the world’s leaders,
knows the military
someone tested and ready to lead in a dangerous world.
its 3am and your children are safe and asleep.
Who do you want answering that phone?”

ruling the country is first, secularism is very important no matter what religion you are. it is even more important in a country with such a large diversity.

That's a compelling question.

<Didn't vote. God had no moral concern with our beliefs on earth....

Heck, I prefer this argument to the one that says conservatives can't truly be Christian.
Not sure I follow. Most liberals think that conservatives are too Christian.

The point I was trying to make, if you don't like it, is that you shouldn't be able to fling around, "He's not a Christian," in a debate and for it to be an insult and a political point as well.

Good poll ... I do not have any blind faith beliefs (although I am not atheist) so I did not vote; yet it was interesting to view how people voted.

Another thought ... would posters vote for POTUS who was driven strongly by his blind faith belief in the supernatural and despite whatever he said during the election on issues he/she conveyed this religious belief was foundational in his decision process?

I only care to vote for prospective candidates that share my social beliefs.

If none of them share my beliefs, then I'm under no obligation to vote for them. If Santorum is out of the race then it'll probably mean that I won't be voting again.
