Should There be TV Coverage of Open Supreme Court Sessions?

I think all government proceedings should be open to the public, except those that are of real national security concern. The government should have an open-kimono policy on everything involving domestic policy, especially significant court cases. TV helps spread that, as most people don't live near the supreme court building and can't travel simply to observe proceedings that aren't involving them directly.

We the people should be able to watch our government at work.

Definitely. The more the public knows the inner workings of the Supreme Court, the better.

I voted yes ... I would fascinated by SCOTUS sessions/rulings on occasion and I do not watch TV.

Yet ... knowing what celebrity and TV brings so often (trash) it would have to be carefully constructed and unobtrusive and simply documentation of the proceedings.

Public channel ... no special interest or financial interests ... straight viewing with no editing.

This I can agree with. Transparency is valuable for gaining the trust of the people.

That's deliberation, and that will never be televised.

I could accept not being able to televise the actual behind the scenes deliberations. That would be reasonable and acceptable to me. But the formal hearing in the Supreme Court chamber itself should be televised before the public.

I would like it if we could view the deliberations as well.

I don't see why not.

I'm a pretty firm believe in government transparency but some things are not meant for public viewing.
