I only think that is the case in the US, because american conservatives have scared the intellectuals away. This post I "like", but I do not agree with some aspects. I find the liberal ideologies more palatable, IMO, they are much more intellectual.
If you take a look at other countries, you will find intellectuals on both sides. Actually in Sweden you will find that the right attract more intellectuals, and not the left. Even in the US, surveys show that american conservatives are more inteligent than the average liberal. That is because even though the intellectuals vote Democrat, the majority in the Democratic party are not intellectuals.
I also dont dislike all liberals. I dislike the cultural left. I dont mind the economically left if it doesnt turn towards class warfare. They are needed, because the right do not always have the correct answer. For instance, I believe the right in New Zealand should invest more in public transport in Auckland. Since they only care about highways, my vote goes towards Labour. However, the cultural left has been a disaster. There are very few policies the cultural left have got it right, and their stubborness are extremly annoying. They can never admit they were wrong. For instance, Sweden has gone from a country with almost no social problems to have one of the highest rape rates in Europe, and riots every single year. The cultural left still think that immigrants with no education from Somalia benefit Sweden, and everyone who disagree are racist. They dont even dare to debate their opinions, because they got crushed last time they tried.
