Yeah, that all sounds good, Boo, but I just don't see the same kind of dissection of every single little word a liberal candidate uses.

What we see, or think we see, may or may not be what is. ;)

Nah I think he did fine... there are reasons for replying to it in both ways, neither of them wrong b/c its just an awkward situation... you might of responded differently, but it was on the spot and he chose to be anti-confrontational instead of wasting time.

It sure helped him, didn't it? McCain's campaign was basically declaring he wasn't W Bush, defending Obama and siding with both against Republicans for the mega-bailout. His campaign is a model in what not to do.

He had no chance of winning either way. He chose to lose with honor.

Although the odds were stacked against him, McCain still had a significant chance of winning the election at various points in the campaign.

I'm so tired of Conservatives sticking their head into the ground and pretending that Obama isn't an illigitimate President....they really are creating their own reality.

no vote
To a degree, Sanatorium is "pandering" to the woman...but he was smart enough not to argue with her...something about fools...
I'd say that neither will be going very far in life..
How Rick ever was elected to the Senate in the first place is beyond me.

What now? You're tired of us pretending that he isn't illegitimate. Freudian slip? :D

No! That was fine X! :) I didn't vote for nor care for McCain, but that has nothing to do with praising him for doing the right thing.

What I don't understand, is why correcting her might have lost him the presidency. There seems to be an agreement it might have though, so I went with it.

There were lots of reasons why McCain lost the presidency, but correcting one nut case had nothing to do with it. One reason was that he was seen by Independents (y'all know neither side can win without us :D ) as "Bush lite", and most people wanted the Whitehouse disinfected after Bush left office, not re-contamination by a continuation of his policies. The other was Sarah Palin. Once he chose her, he never had a chance.

Oh, and Santorum? Eh, he's a politician playing toward his voter base. He sidestepped nicely, went back on message, and handled the whole thing well. I hate the guy's politics, but can't criticize him for this.
