Let's predict this now and then come back to it after the election. This is a public poll. Vote now!

I voted no.

Barring some huge gaff / problem that isn't even on the horizon, Obama will be re-elected.

I can only imagine the gnashing of teeth that will be taking place on DP as we lead up to the election. Should be quite a ride.

I sure hope so.

I do not see any republican candidate that is really likely to beat Obama in November. That said, I think the election will turn on the state of the economy and it is impossible to tell for sure what the economy will be like come November.

For what it is worth, InTrade has the chance of Obama getting re-elected at 54.4 %.

If he gets reelected, no.

If he doesn't get reelected, then it's up to him since he'll still be able to give one next year before he leaves office.

No, unfortunately. There are simply too many uninformed voters in this country to stop this guy.

Does it really make any difference? The Libya deal spoke to me with GWShiiteForBrains clarity. Big energy actually runs the gov't. It has for quite some time. If you have wars for energy, then those that profit from that energy are pulling the strings. Don't get common sense and reason blocked by an excess of venereal issues and minute details. Cause and effect. What are the causes of our current effects?

Seeing how the GOP is deliberately running lousy candidates I say no this won't be his state of the Union. The republicans are practically trying to hand Obama his second term by trying to prop up Romney and the media is doing everything in their power to screw 3rd party candidates.

No. This will NOT be Obama's last State of the Union Address. He will have four more of them between now and 2016; owing mostly to the inability of the GOP to come together and nominate an actual alternative to him rather than a clone of him (Romney).

The GOP just don't have a candidate that can beat him. Mittens has shown over and over he can't relate to the common man.

Let me tell you something. America is a great nation, because we’re a united nation. And those who are trying to divide the nation, as you’re trying to do here, and as our president is doing, are hurting this country seriously. The right course for America is not to try to divide America, and try and divid us between one and another. it’s to come together as a nation.

And if you’ve got a better model — if you think China’s better, or Russia’s better, or Cuba’s better, or North Korea’s better — I’m glad to hear all about it.

He sounds like a right wing talk show host when he should be sounding like a candidate for President.

Four more years!!!

So basically this poll is just another way of asking if Obama will be re-elected. In that case I think at this point the Republicans aren't looking too good and if they pick Romney I think he's going to get his a-ss owned for so many flip-flops. But anything can happen if the economy tanks again it might be game over for Obama.

I doubt it. It's looking more and more certain that Romney will get the republican nomination, and he's basically a conservative John Kerry. I predict the election will go the same way it did then.

What if they tie in 2012?

Then they both get to be president but have to share one chair in the oval office, now the real question becomes, will Obama have to sit on Newt Gingrich/Romneys lap? Or the other way around?

What a conspiracy.

I too, voted NO. IMHO Obama will be the President for the next 4 years unless he gets assassinated.

It is not that I am in favor of his Presidency, more that the Republicans seem unable to mount an acceptable person as an Nominee.

Newt is thoroughly dishonest
Romney is a flip flopper
Santorum is no different than Obama in so much as they both imagine they can buy the USA out of recession.
Paul is just too damn old

I'm desperately searching for the SNL sketch where Bush and Gore had to live together in the White House...

It's going to depend on who gets the nomination. They'll need to get the independent vote and Paul and Santorum never will. Gingrich could, but he's got a little work to dot there.

Not Newt either. he would be death for the independent vote - especially the all important soccer mom vote.

Its Mitt or nothing for the GOP.

With the Republican field, I am praying that Obama will get re-elected. I can say, however, that the field has been improved now that Perry has dropped out.

What a conspiracy.

Conspiracy? Romney is literally the republican John Kerry but yet the GOP is trying to prop this man up as though he is some convective even though his term as governor of Massachusetts proves he is a liberal. Gingrich keeps shooting himself in the foot by claiming Palestinians invented people and supports amnesty, cosponsored the so-called fairness doctrine, supports forcing people to buy health insurance even though he condemned Obama-care, a blatant hypocrite, and ethics violations. The other candidates despite having adequate time failed to get themselves on various ballots. They are literally handing Obama his second term
