Your Prediction: Will this be Obama's last State of the Union address?

Will this be Obama's last State of the Union address?

  • Total voters
    64
  • Poll closed .
I do not see any republican candidate that is really likely to beat Obama in November. That said, I think the election will turn on the state of the economy and it is impossible to tell for sure what the economy will be like come November.

For what it is worth, InTrade has the chance of Obama getting re-elected at 54.4 %.

Well according to all the stupid ads they keep airing here? Newt is the only that can and will beat Obama..:2razz:

What a conspiracy.

No kidding. Why in the hell would the GOP deliberately run peeps they feel cannot beat Obama? I have heard it all now. Makes no sense:doh

To help keep up the two party monopoly or duopoly. I suppose if you honestly believed that the two party monopoly worked against each other instead of working together to stay in power it might not make sense to deliberately prop up lousy candidates.

If the economy continues to improve, and we don't have a real challenger suddenly enter the race, it is a sure thing!

My intuition is telling me he is going to lose, but the evidence still suggests he is going to win.

I was hoping for a "God, I hope so" option in the poll. But alas...

No he will get back in mainly because he will be running against old white men who don't actually seem to have a game plan...

I see it as likely he will get another term. Though Obama obviously hasn't been a "Great" President as so many believed he would be, he has been relatively good. Had the Republicans fielded anyone who even seemed better capable, he would probably lose.

True, white men have always had trouble getting elected. Old ones have practically no chance at all. The GOP needs a chick. A hot, hispanic one. What could BO do against that?

or a young white Conservative...Lets be honest if your 20-30 single independent voter are you going to go down and vote for guys called Mitt and Newt?

Let's beal real honest. If you're a young, single guy, are you looking at first names as your deciding factor? Do you know your ass from your elbow?

What will "Barack" do for you that "Mitt" or "Newt" won't?

well we are not talking about me as I cant vote in the US election and I obviously take an interest in politics. I'm talking about the average joe who doesnt really follow politics, you really think Romney and Newt are going to inspire the independent votes and drive them into the polling stations?

It seems to me that an average Joe that doesn't follow politics would fall into the 65% of the country that think the US is on the wrong track ( even if you don't follow politics, you would at least know the state of the economy and foreign policy because it's all over the tv and news papers.) Given the above it would make sense to give someone else a chance.

Yeah, compared to Grant or Buchanan.

No. This will NOT be Obama's last State of the Union Address. He will have four more of them between now and 2016; owing mostly to the inability of the GOP to come together and nominate an actual alternative to him rather than a clone of him (Romney).

Just curious, who would you prefer to Romney?

I personally think Newt would be worse, and I think that Santorum is too boring in debate (not to mention his urban dictionary definition).
I mean I like Ron Paul most, but I know there's a lot of conservatives that don't, so I guess I'd like to know who you think would be better than Mr. Romney?

I don't like it... but I think Obama will be back another 4 years for all the wrong reasons.

He's a vulnurable President...who wouldn't be after 3 years of an "ehhh...." economy but not to the guys that could potentially run against him.

I think he'll win again. I think a real conservative could beat him but
our party refuses to put one up there. I think enthusiasm is now and will be low on election day for republicans.

I take it you wish me to state he sucks, has been the worst president in history, is a Muslim. Socialist, Non-Citizen....sorry, I tend to focus on facts and reality. I also try to rely on actual Data, as I would hope is obvious in my post history.

none of the republican candidates are strong enough to beat him out. Guess we all can look forward to 2016!

I doubt it. The Republicans have two frontrunners. One (Newt) is totally unelectable by moderates and swing voters, widely hated by the left, and will probably take a hit from values voters on the right (especially women) no matter what he managed to pull of during the SC debate. The other (Mitt) is disliked by the left and the right, and he has a religion problem.

On the other hand, moderates tend to vote based on the state of the economy. So if the economy doesn't improve, Obama's screwed.
