Sure, it has the "ability," but the odds are stacked against any systematic change either way. If one views the current system as flawed, you can blame the public for not getting off their asses and doing something about it, but it's not their fault that the flawed system exists and will likely continue to exist.

But it is, because the voting public has always had the power to vote the people who run the system out.

Look, you know you can find out what you need to, and you can exercise your vote, right? Regardless of any ad campaigns or media coverage or anything else?

So can everyone else.

If they don't, there's no one else to blame.

Which is why we have the government we deserve. If we act as informed, involved citizens, then things change (I suppose according to the "better" of the majority). If we don't, then we're complicit.

Ok if Obama does a second term will this change your opinion of him and will you be more likely to give him a chance?

I think he's likely to get a second term, and no it would not change my opinion of him. The number of terms he serves does nothing to take away from the fact that he's essentially a Bush clone.

You left off "other" as a voting option.

If he gets a second term, I'll still view him as an idiot. Being elected doesn't mean one is smart or doing a good job. It's just indicates that the voting public can be uninformed and easily suckered.

Or that they are choosing the better of two mediocre options.

the biggest difference being the MSM hated Bush and they approach obama with kneepads

When will a Republican enter the race that can beat him? Seriously, their best hope of beating him dropped out of the race today.

not a single person who is considered an "expert" in this area agrees with your claim.

well surely by winning it would suggest that his policies are not as dangerous or destructive as the GOP have suggested because if they were he would not of won the popular vote for the 2nd time.

Not necessarily.

It should be well known that the public doesn't vote based upon policies.... its a popularity contest of near-sainthood.

Obama will be reelected. Mitt Romney will not be President; this is Republican's "John Kerry" year. I'm lukewarm on Obama; he's done some things I've liked, a lot of things I haven't liked. But he will most likely be a two-term President (barring something huge, like a terrorist attack or the SCOTUS striking down health care reform) and I'm at least interested to see where he goes from here, and to what lengths the GOP will go to be obstructionist.

I'm expecting the economy to pick up somewhat in the next year or two and with the Iraq war done, Obama will be in a more beneficial position to really do some Obama stuff.

The SCOTUS will probably, conveniently, delay any serious review of health care reform until after the election.

I thought Fox claimed to have the biggest ratings? Wouldn't that make them the mainstream media?

And which programs have the biggest ratings on talk radio?
