Do you think you know Romney's true political stance?

Chameleon. Same as every other savvy guy who runs for Prez.

I think he should recycle the Maverick gimmick and run on that. I am sure that would work out very well for him.

Yes, I voted for all of them...prove me wrong.

The poll is a joke, but I was trying to hear some opinions on Romney's beliefs... what you think and why.

For example, I am not sold on Romney's hatred of Obamacare. I remember reading Romney's healthcare plan in '08 and it sounded a lot like what Obama ended up doing... Romney even wanted the government to fine people for not buying health insurance, and I clearly remember reading and reacting to that. And more importantly, he doesn't even admit or fess up that he offered anything remotely similar.

As far as Romney's over the top angry and often entertaining opposition to Obamacare... I really do feel that Romney is capable of scrapping Obamacare, something he once believed in, just to prove his political clout to the extreme right... I really can't stand that about him. He's like the guy who tried to act cool in high school and wanted impress everybody so bad that he lied and acted differently as different people came around. It's a characteristic in people that I have ALWAYS despised and could never respect. I guess a little bit of middle school wisdom escaped Romney... just be yourself, if people don't like you for who you are, you don't need them.

The only people who believe he is pro-life,anti-gay marriage, and against Obamacare are idiots and those without access to the internet.

me too.

Romney's true ideological system is Romneyism - the belief that Mitt Romney should be President.

A pretty entertaining depiction of why that may not be a bad thing from Mother Jones of all places

Mitt Romney is the Perfect Cyborg Tea Party President

...OK, sure. Point taken. Romney is a shameless panderer. He'll do whatever you want him to do as long as you'll promise to vote for him.

It's not a pretty sight. But it also makes him the perfect tea party candidate. Don't they see this? With a guy like Rick Perry, you never know. The right person whispers in his ear and suddenly he decides that he hates cancer so much that he doesn't care about conservative principles. Cancer is more important. Do you think Mitt Romney would ever do that? No siree. He'd run that baby dispassionately through the Computron 9000 that passes for a brain and then he'd do exactly what you want him to do. Because he wants you to vote for him. So as long as you keep the pressure on, Romney will never disappoint you....

Who knows what Romney actually believes or would do if elected POTUS.

The same can be said for Obama, only now we know what he would do when elected because he was elected and is $cre+ing us royally without the KY Jelly even being offered.

People have the ability and the right to change. In fact what you felt as a teenager has changed drastically, or should have if you have a normal IQ. For some reason (perhaps to sell news) the media jumps all over politicians when they change their minds after a few months or years. Now Obama never has changed his views. He's still a Marxist and told us so...it's just that some people have an inability to actually hear what some people say...they hear what they want to hear.

Ah, this poll shows that Romney can’t possibly be the Republican candidate. (I guess we knew that already.) So pick anther one from the list. Maybe Bachman. Good luck.

cpwill - Interesting link you quote.

I'm with the others. There's no way to tell what Romney actually believes. His beliefs change with every new Gallop poll.

But ya know, now that you mention it... what's wrong with that? Aren't politicians supposed to do the will of the people? I grant you it's a risk, when the entire educational institution is essentially on fire, the media's just a cocaine-fueled circus, and this is where people are getting most of their information from. But if those two things weren't the case... someone like Romney might not be a bad idea.

Romney is anti-Obama.

Except for when Obama is right, which is never.

Romney is a conservative. When he ran for Governor of Mass. he had to run as a moderate in order to be elected. Its the same as when a Republican candidate talks a big conservative game during primary debates but cools things off during general election to appeal to independents. Romney ran in a mainly Democratic state, so you must come off as a moderate in order to be elected as a Republican

If you really believe that then I got something to sell you.
