The Irrationality of Vigilant Wisdom?

Is it irrational/bigoted to have a slight wariness of Muslims?

In America proper? As in the soil of the 50 States only? Over what time frame?

As in all Muslims, everywhere, and with remembering the past, as well.

I speak of the whole group. The same with all Christians, etc, etc, etc, etc...

No, you did not.

Answer this:

Would you trust ALL Germans in the US during WWII with COMPLETE faith?
do you know many/any Muslims personally?

maybe you didn't understand my answer, so I shall post it again:

yes. they are American citizens and they fought against the Nazis bravely.

ever hear of Mr. Dwight Eisenhower? he was of German descent

There were quite a few Nazi spies in America at that time, Thunder.

There were also some sympathizers.

No, you still evade it.

Answer this:

Would you trust ALL Germans in the US during WWII with COMPLETE faith?

*At the TIME of WWII, not our present time*
He answered your question within the proper time period. He said, "they fought against the Nazis bravely."

do you know many/any Muslims personally?

the first Muslim I ever got to know, was a former US Marine, who had an American flag on his wall. Direct descendant of Muhammed.

and they made him "register", after 9-11. if there was one Muslim in the USA who did not deserve such treatment, it was this guy.

do you know many/any Muslims personally?

Yes. Why? There is a modern Muslim I have befriended, AEB that other thread about the Facebook discussion.

Do you trust your friends 100%?

I trust my friend to an extent, just as I trust any of my friends to an extent. That does not change the fact that I don't have complete trust in any large group of people.

I daresay I don't trust all communists, either, if you want to start drawing in the political group element. Same for capitalists/liberals/socialist/etc

so what. I would not have feared German-Americans more than anyone else.

its unAmerican, bigoted, and not justified by anything other than paranoia & irrational thinking.

and you know what else? guess which ethnic group got the most Congressional Medals of Honor for WW2? Japanese-Americans.

so this whole nonesense about justifying bigotry & prejudiced fear, is utter bull****.

He answered your question within the proper time period. He said, "they fought against the Nazis bravely."

Well, there were quite a few German spies, as well. Including German sympathizers of the Nazis. Do you think those Germans in the US did not exist?

As in all Muslims, everywhere, and with remembering the past, as well.

I speak of the whole group. The same with all Christians, etc, etc, etc, etc...

Wait...what? You said 18 terrorist attacks by radical Muslims in America. I just wanted to know if that was America proper (just the 50 States) and the time frame for it.

...I daresay I don't trust all communists, either, if you want to start drawing in the political group element. Same for capitalists/liberals/socialist/etc

Communists are a political group.

that's like comparing chickens to a telephone.

I don't care what else you add.

So you would trust ALL Germans in the US at that time EVEN THOUGH you acknowledge that there were quite a few German/Nazi spies as well as Germans who were Nazi sympathizers??

Well, there were quite a few German spies, as well. Including German sympathizers of the Nazis. Do you think those Germans in the US did not exist?

and you think that would justify bigotry against tens of millions of Americans who were of German descent?

did the attack on Pearl Harbor justify bigotry against all Japanese-Americans??????

Communists are a political group.

that's like comparing chickens to a telephone.

No.

We are talking about GROUPS.

That is the point.

..So you would trust ALL Germans in the US at that time EVEN THOUGH you acknowledge that there were quite a few German/Nazi spies as well as Germans who were Nazi sympathizers??

how many German-American spies were there during WW2?

and you think that would justify bigotry against tens of millions of Americans who were of German descent?

did the attack on Pearl Harbor justify bigotry against all Japanese-Americans??????

I am NOT talking about bigotry. Time and again you distort my words.

I am talking about NOT having 100% trust. That does not equal bigotry.

Now, would you trust ALL Germans in America during WWII even though you acknowledge that there were German/NAZI spies and Germans who sympathized with the Nazis? Either you trust them fully, or you don't have complete trust. I am NOT talking about the kind of mistrust that you speak of. I am talking about an awareness/vigilance---NOT bigotry.

how many German-American spies were there during WW2?

That is NOT the point. Numbers don't matter when we speak of ALL or NONE.

The point is whether you have complete trust in all Germans in America during WWI even though you acknowledge there were German/Nazi spies and Germans who sympathized with the Nazi cause.

...Now, would you trust ALL Germans in America during WWII even though you acknowledge that there were German/NAZI spies and Germans who sympathized with the Nazis?....

how many German-American spies were caught during WW2?

and how would they justify having irrational fear of tens of millions of German-Americans, including Dwight D. Eisenhower?

Yes. Why? There is a modern Muslim I have befriended, AEB that other thread about the Facebook discussion.

Do you trust your friends 100%?
I ask because I know a lot of Muslims and I can't imagine being weary of them because they are Muslim. I really can't at all. And no, I don't trust my friends 100%, but that's not the idea being discussed here. We're talking about distrusting people because they are Muslim. My trust in my friends has nothing to do with their religion.

You miss the point YET AGAIN.

NUMBERS DON'T MATTER in terms of "ALL" or "NONE."

...Numbers don't matter when we speak of ALL or NONE....

....The point is whether you have complete trust in all Germans in America during WWI even though you acknowledge there were German/Nazi spies and Germans who sympathized with the Nazi cause.

No, the point that you appear to be making is that even though there were perhaps 30 million German-Americans in the USA during WW2, we should have an irrational fear of them...just due to the alleged German-American spies against the USA....who's numbers you have consistently failed to spell out or even prove.

So I ask: how many German-American spies were caught by the USA? and how do they justify irrational fear against tens of millions of German-Americans?

Do you distrust people in those groups because they are in those groups?

I have an awareness based on what actions have happened by some in that group.

As an example: I don't trust ALL businessmen because I am AWARE that there have been businessmen who have embezzled/cheated people.

It is really that simple.

You miss the point, yet again.

Numbers don't matter. A virtually indiscernable awareness is justified.

Define what you mean by irrational.

I guess in order to be rational I MUST trust all groups absolutely.

Hilarious.

not weary, that's means tired. wary.
