Strong on momentum, but shy of real power, TEA Party?s political weight remains to be seen

42 percent reported a favorable opinion of the TEA Party versus 40 percent unfavorable.

Read that link more carefully:

"A recent WCU Public Policy Institute/Smoky Mountain News poll of registered voters in Jackson County [North Carolina] shows a nearly even split of how people view the TEA Party: 42 percent reported a favorable opinion of the TEA Party versus 40 percent unfavorable."

So even in Jackson County North Carolina, the Tea Party seems to have peaked out lower than even the lowest estimate we've seen for OWS's nationwide approval rating.

Then lay back and enjoy it.

If the Tea Party is no more prevalent than the communists, you have nothing to worry about.

Do you?

Dude. It's the same old thing with you... Short quippy posts that always make it clear you aren't quite following what we're talking about...

LOL. 26% of you think you're in the top 1%. The actual number is almost certainly 0%....

Democrats always puzzle over why so many Republicans clearly vote against their interests. Middle class Republicans routinely vote, for example, for measures that transfer enormous amounts of wealth from the middle class to the super wealthy. It never really makes sense to us. One theory is that Republicans all think they are about to be rich. Another theory is that Republicans fetishize the rich as see is as some kind of sacrifice they are making to their idols or something. But the theory I tend to believe is that they actually think they ARE the rich. They think that like owning a house and two cars means they're amongst "the rich" that people want to tax more. LOL.

Sorry, didn't notice.

I found another poll
WSJ/NBC News Poll: Tea Party Tops Democrats and Republicans - Washington Wire - WSJ

41%, of respondents said they had a very or somewhat favorable view of the Tea Party movement, while 24% said they had a somewhat or very negative view of the group.

If you remove the no opinion votes, which they did for some of the Wall street polls, it will be 63% approval against 37% disapprove.

Why do you think you know what other people's interests are?

Republicans puzzle over why Democrats feel they have to tell other people what their interests are.

When you win, we're a minority. When we win we vote against our interests. What kind of self important bull**** are you selling?

When did you have any wealth transferred to government to someone wealthy? Give specific examples. What is the name of the wealthy person who was given your wealth.

Speaking of going away... Why don't you head back over to pf? You're more their style of poster...

Few displays of political dementia are more disturbing and pathetic than the sight of a person losing a foothold yet vociferously defending the right of the uber wealthy to enrich themselves at the expense of the 99%.

Exactly teamosil ... anyway OWS the protest, unlike others, represents a variety of demands with a common statement, about government corruption and the excessive influence of big business and the wealthiest 1% on U.S. laws and policies.

Ok, so the highest poll we've come up with they hit 41%. The highest poll for OWS is 54%. So, I'm not saying that OWS will turn into a Tea Party like political organization. Probably it won't. But posting approval ratings higher than the Tea Party did at it's peak... That's something worth taking note of. What the combination of the two tells me is that people are frustrated with the government- both agree on that, but even more of them are frustrated both with the government AND with the corporations. Political agendas that don't tackle the corporations only speak to half the problem IMO.

Then they should be at the White House gates or on the lawns of Barney Frank or Chriss Dodd.

Oh, show us where the Tea Party wants to make boogie men of corporations?

Dude. Seriously. The posts you make do not make sense.

Come on. A link or something. You put it out there that both OWS and the Tea Party want to bring down corporations?

Show us where the Tea Party is calling for that?

Because it's BS.

I am the 1%, who wants money?

Uh no... You aren't thinking hard enough. Re-read my post, sit and think on it for a minute. As hard as you can. Then come back and tell me what argument I am making. I'm completely sure you can figure it out if you try really, really, hard.

No, you lumped them together, which is unadulterated bull.

I still want to know what the "1%" has they you once had, and they took from you.

Be specific.

That's why I said they are more more popular than the Tea Party. It is only natural, because pretty much everyone dislikes corporatism.

However, altough I share their views on corporatism. I do not agree on the remainder of their views and think such protests are dangerous. Fact is, living standards in the US are high, and the ones protesting are not poor. People need to get more sensible expectations.

They're touchpad brats with massive unpaid loans and they want them expunged.

99% vs 1%... does the name Custer have any meaning here?

Actually, that's kinda the point. What could a tiny portion of the population possibly be doing to entitle them to so much of the benefits of everyone's labor? Folks who cure diseases, or feed the hungry, or invent a Mr. Fusion... them I could see earning a big slice of the pie. But not so much someone who's big achievement is making stock prices go up.

That's what I thought. The mythical wealth you once had that someone else now has. Put out an APB for my second home. Yikes. I never had a second home. No problem. The 1% have second homes, so they must have stolen it from me.

WTF?

Who wants to give up what they have to follow those morons?

YES! I knew we'd break you down eventually! Huraaaaah! Money for all!!!

Haha you fell for it. *drops card*

No, you lumped them together, which is unadulterated bull.

What I am saying is that they overlap in that they both represent frustration with the government, but OWS is more popular because it also represents frustration with corporations.

This happens to you all the time. You knock out some zinger, but it doesn't actually relate to what the person is arguing. Like they'll say "I think 2+2 = 4" and your response will be "no it isn't, 6 * 2 is 12 you idiot"... You need to change something about how you're approaching these things. Maybe you just are glancing at posts and jumping to conclusions about what they're saying? Or maybe you are just replying too fast? I don't know man, but you've been doing it for years now and it is still clearly not working at all for you, so you need to get to the bottom of it and make some changes. Seriously man. I'm not trying to be a dick. I've spent many, many, hours debating politics with you over the last couple years and I am being totally honest with you. It is really something you need to nail down and take care of.

Not exactly what you said. I multiple quoted the original. The thinly veiled attempt to lump them together didn't work.

So what did you have at one time that the "%1%" now has?
