I bet you need to count pitchforks to get to sleep!

Useful idiots are easily swayed. It doesn't matter who is organizing and leading this? You can't honestly think that.

So you think that the evil communists that have infiltrated OWS will use that position to corrupt the minds of 51% of the nation? So we should rely on you to censor the ideas that the public is exposed to, because they're dumb and you're smart, and you are immune to the corruption that these evil communists sow. Is that about right?

Honestly, it just makes you sound ridiculous when you say stuff like that... I don't know what else to tell you. It's silly talk. There are only two communist nations left on earth and they're both in the process of switching over to capitalism... You need a new boogie man. Or better yet, stop thinking in such a simplistic way and engage people with ideas rather than childish scary stories.

BS. I have friends who are succesful MDs who are easly thrown in that heap by these assholes.

BS yourself....its not successful Doctors that are the target of OWS.....try building a different strawman.

The communists have fallen on hard times. Ask Van Jones. This is just the coming out party they needed.

Which nations are those?

Hey, that site says:

Is your overall opinion of the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations favorable or unfavorable?

Favorable
45%

Favorable
49%

Not sure
6%

So 45% favorable + 49% favorable... That's 94% favorable! ;)

Regardless of whether it is 54% or 45% or 49%, those numbers are still all higher than any other major political entity. The tea party, for example, is currently at 27%. Obama is at 43%. Romney is at 36%. Congress is at 12%...

Oh.. come on. Read the rest, and you will see it is a typo.

The Tea Party also had similar approval ratings in mid-2010. Of course around half of the population is going to approve it, because they are mad at the bankers, and the politicans. But if they knew what kind of opinions the Wall Street protestors had, their approval rating would be down with the Tea Party.

Have you researched who is behind the newspaper? Who organized the protests to begin with? What the professors there are teaching our kids? If not, then you know very little about this movement. It's not just regular folks mad at Wall Street. It's a global movement that's been coming for a long time. And it wasn't organized by capitalist-lovers.

You told me it wasn't democratic and that it was being led by communists and socialists. This is incorrect. I've been down there and I've seen and participated in how it works.

Incidentally, there have been a lot of teach ins and MANY of them were organized by libertarians such as yourself. So don't delude yourself into thinking you can convince me that this is all a socialist conspiracy when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

BS yourself....its not successful Doctors that are the target of OWS.....try building a different strawman.

Says who? The faction of the OWS crowd that demands medical providers work for no profit?

im the -1% :3 So special am I!

Name the "libertarians."

It was nobody of any kind of celebrity. Just ordinary people teaching folks about how the economy works and how the stock market and the federal reserve works etc.

I want names. I want to look up a CV or two.

Because I call BS.

We are selling our means of production to a communist country and indebted to them to the tune of trillions of dollars. We are pretty much owned by a communist country at this point.

LOL. That part is true. Not exactly a great advertisement for capitalism.

But, if it makes you feel better, China is steadily moving to capitalism. IMO they're doing it smart. The USSR decided that they wanted to be capitalist and they just flipped the switch one day. It totally destroyed the country. Their economy fell apart, their nuclear weapons ended up on the black market, their people starved... It takes decades to set up a capitalist economy. China saw that and learned from their mistakes IMO. They're on like a 40 year plan to become capitalist, and so far, it's working extremely well. Their growth has been outrageously high for many years in a row. Capitalism is good for an economy for sure, but it isn't magical fairy dust that you can just sprinkle over everything and all of a sudden everybody is rich. It requires a whole set of industries and businesses and infrastructure and institutions and sociological changes to pull off, and China is building those up as we speak. I doubt China would ever become a laissez faire democratic capitalist nation exactly the way the US has chosen to implement it. Our form of capitalism isn't exactly working out. They'll probably have their own spin on it. But in 30 years or so, nobody will be describing them as communist anymore.

Even if I knew their names (which I don't) I would never give them to people over the internet.

You don't have to trust me. Go down there and see for yourself.

I know, that's why I did the winky face!

The Tea Party also had similar approval ratings in mid-2010.

I don't think that is true. Somebody else said that earlier, but couldn't find a source. Maybe it is true, but my recollection is that they never got higher than 35%.

Them commies are a sneaky lot, when's the revolution gonna occur?

I haven't been to New York since Giuliani left office and the troublemakers returned to the streets.

No one is demanding that "medical providers work for no profit"....that is the worst attempt at spin that I think I've ever seen on this board.

The idea of a "for profit" healthcare industry is absurd....but it has nothing to do with Doctors and other healthcare workers not being paid a good salary. It has to do with insurance companies and the healthcare corporations not being able to profit by denying coverage and other actions unrelated to actually providing healthcare.

I would say "nice try"...but that one isn't even close.

Michael Bloombger is a horse's ass. I weep for your city.

Strong on momentum, but shy of real power, TEA Party?s political weight remains to be seen

42 percent reported a favorable opinion of the TEA Party versus 40 percent unfavorable.

It's correct that the Occupy Wall street is somewhat more popular, but that's mostly because both Republicans and Democrats dislike corporatism. Many people think they are just protesting corporatism. However, if people knew what kind of fringe opinions the Wall Street protestors have, their approval rating would drop.
