I admire your persistence but there's no point in trying to change some people's minds... or even get them to discuss something in a reasonable manner.

Well, you can't ignore his idea. It does have merit.

It's hyperbole, out of context and intended to piss someone off. Merit? Not so much.
 
Ever fired an automatic weapon? They are pretty hard to control and therefor very bad for shooting up anything. A legal semi-automatic would be better.

Much of an automatic weapons function is not to for accuracy but in a military sense, to give cover for movement and position. In a close area or where there are many targets a short distance away, an automatic fire weapon can be more effective in the hands of an experienced handler of that weapon. Otherwise, I would agree, semi-automatic is the way to go.

Exactly. Thats why when the military attacks something most of the automatic weapons are set down as a base of fire while the maneuver element is made up of mostly semi automatic weapons with a couple of fully automatic weapons.
