I'd say a case can easily be made that declaring the president and vice president your enemy qualifies as sedition.

Not by the definition of the word Sedition. He is not inciting rebellion.

Sedition is not limited to rebelion. Inciting acts of violence or disturbances against the state equally qualifies. Sedition is not treason and I can see where declaring, "they're the enemy!" on national television can incite violence or public disturbances.

We are back to the Bizzarro universe again. What you are doing is taking things too far. If you wanted to say "Hank Williams Jr is an asshole for his comments and an idiot", that is a reasonable attitude and defensible from the facts. You instead pulled a Beck/Limbaugh strategy of starting from a reasonable point, then stretching it way too far.

Actually I believe he is simply advocating for retroactively charging all the people that compared Bush to Hitler with sedition and have them arrested for the good of the nation.

OK...you may be right...

I am always right. Remember that.

I'll always cede to your judgement regarding , over the top rhetoric, intersexual matters and kittens!

I cant believe we are still talking about this. Hank done it, MNF survived...and Im pretty sure we were still 'ready for some football' with or without a theme song that frankly has gotten a little tiresome.

You believe wrong, I am not even talking about his Hitler comment. I am speaking strictly of his, "they're the enemy, they're the enemy!" declaration. I'm also not saying he was inentionally seeking to incite violence or public disturbances; but that I can see where calling the president and VP the "enemy" on national television can result in that.

That's ironic because Dixie Chicks got in trouble because they weren't PC enough for country music fans.

I guess it all depends upon the p to which you are attempting to be c.

What double standard? The Dixie Chicks made a disparaging remark against Bush and Clear Channel, the nation's leading radio broadcaster, banned them from their some 1,200 stations.

the one people are trying to INVENT lol

I'm too lazy to read the thread. Yes, I hate people like me too.

That said, Hank Williams Jr. has the right to make an ass of himself on national television, and he exercised that right. Others have a right to distance their association from someone who makes an ass of himself on national television, and have exercised that right.

No rights have been violated, all rights have been exercised... do the mashed potatoes come with gravy? 'Cause if they do, I might change my poll vote. :D

You Right Wingers get more angry about Bocephus getting kicked off MNF than you do about troops coming home maimed and civillians needlessly dying from U.S. missles.

Get your priorities straight, for once!:2razz:

Hank Jr. was absolutely right. Obama does have a lot in common with Hitler. No, he doesn't have gas chambers, but he is a power-hungry monster who is dedicated to destroying capitalism and replacing it with fascism (socialism) and tons of anti-American mandates.

Thanks, Hank, for calling a spade a spade. ESPN owes you a huge apology.

You misread his statement. He said they're enemies, the two parties. They are.

The golf outing was a stupid PR sideshow. The hypocrisy here in media is astounding. The media spend years saying the guy is a muslim, marxist, commie, kenyan, but they scapegoat Hank for noticing.

We are supposed to listen to this crap, and be passive sheeple instead of yelling BS at the establishment?

WTF? This is the second time tonight that you have quoted me while spouting a bunch of rhetoric that has nothing to do with either my post or the topic of the thread. Stop stalking me, and stay on topic, dammit.

As opposed to Obamas call for the Latino voters to 'punish' republicans?

Geeeezus this is silly.

You misread his statement. He said they're enemies, the two parties.
Oy-vey. No, he didnt't say that. He said "they're the enemy," not, "they're enemies." And when asked to clarify who he thought the enemy was, he pointed to Obama and Biden. Seriously, how can you not understand what he said?

WILLIAMS: "Well, I'm glad you don't, brother, because a lot of people do. You know, they're the enemy. They're the enemy."

KILMEADE: "Who's the enemy?"

WILLIAMS: "Obama and Biden!"

Of course he would characterize them as the enemy, because Hank Williams is a Republican!

I'm a liberal, therefore the GOP is the enemy, get it?

its a simile, of course Hitler is an enemy of the Jewish and vice-versa!

My post had everything to do with Republicans like yourself, and was on topic. Hank merely stated that two sides playing golf were enemies, a fact. He got fired. Republicans are always doing these trivial threads ten page long, essentially about nothing. (The last time was it Juan Williams?)

The Right Wing is so passionate about Muslims opening a mosque and all this junk, but when people are dying enmasse because of illegal wars, where are you all? Where are your protests to save lives rather than display all kinds of rhetoric about things that don't matter?

A comment about the GOP in general, no one is stalking you.

I'm not a damned republican and I'm sick of you following me from thread to thread insisting that I am. Stop harassing me. Now.

Whatever you say, Ronald Reagan.

If ESPN has become our Federal government then ‘yes’ Hank’s 1st Amendment right was violated.

I have to say that I did get a kick out of that line in the new stupid song that he made where he accused Fox & Friends of twisting his words around.

Junior's best days are past in my opinion, though I liked Sr.'s music much much more. I stayed quiet on this one because both sides represented the best answer but it's simple, he said what he said and it was taken in the wrong context. While I think ESPN overreacted so did Jr. as did a great many people but none of this is a violation of his rights; he said it, ESPN didn't like it and both parties had the right to move forward as they saw fit.

I read on here and some other places that people think that Hanks/1st amendment rights were violated or infringed upon in some what.

Them people is dumb as dirt.

The great thing about the first amendment, it helps us weed out the real loons... like Williams and Beck.

Funny, Fox News compares Obama to communists 24/7, but if one wet brain red neck compares the President to a fascist.... that crosses the line???
