Is it right?

Is it right to cheer for people's deaths.

1.That the piece of **** is dead.
2.That piece of **** will no longer be able to harm another innocent person.

If he is dead he can't harm anyone, He can't give tv interviews. If he is dead he or she can't do the things they used to do.

I do not think any one has ever made the claim that cheering the death of a scumbag magically makes dead victims suddenly come back to life. I could be wrong on this because there might be some cult out there that believes cheering the death of a scumbag brings his victims back to life. So why do scumbag sympathizers always bring up this non-issue of how it won't bring someone back to life in death penalty debates and why do you bring this up on the issue on whether or not it is right to cheer the death of someone?

T think it is because they are cheering for an execution system that is sometimes correct! Sometimes, and those that don't know that are too dumb to be voting

All the people that died on 9-11 are somehow comparable to dead terrorists, dictators and other scumbags who murder innocent people?

How many innocent people have we killed in the wars following 9-11? Innocent people die in every war.

Yeah. And no one is cheering for those deaths. Well, maybe some people are, but they're assholes.

That still has nothing to do with the fact that a bunch of terrorists cheering for the death of innocent people that died on 9-11 is no where close to being the same as a bunch of people cheering the death murderers, rapists ,mass murdering dictators and other scumbags.

When I hear about some guy getting executed that tortured, raped and murdered some kid I not only cheer for his death I cheer for the hounds from hell waiting to drag his worthless soul to Hell. Then I cheer for the demons that will torture him until the end of time. If that stuffs not true I just cheer for him being gone.

...you might have a few demons torturing you by the end of it all....

I really wanted answer this question that cheering was wrong.

Yet, I cheered when Osama bin Laden was killed. Perhaps this question is poorly framed.

The hoopla at the Republican debate about people dying from lack of health care struck me as something where people were caught up in the moment. On the other hand Republicans seem to be doing everything they can to quash The Affordable Care Act. The things people say and do in politics these days are clearly over the edge. I can not believe any sane person would consider someone like Michele Bachmann for dog catcher let alone president. Now, we have Bill Maher supporting the Donner Party Democrats to be a left wing version of the Tea Party. Who will be the most crazy - the left or the right? Let's just hope this thing goes full circle and we get our sanity back. While I will not say who, this practical liberal Democrat knows one Republican former Governor whom I think would be a great president, but we don't reveal things like that anymore, do we?

The death penalty needs to go. It is uncivilized and kills innocent people and there is no study that confirms that the capital punishment decreases violent criminal behavior.

Here comes the human rights blanket. It is so easy in a forum like this to be the bleeding heart for all the world's unfair acts. If we could spend the money on schools that we waste on murderers, our education system would be the envy of the world.

These criminnals had their chance and took a life, they should pay with theirs. We should not be spending $20,000-$40,000 a year on murderers. It is intelligent, practical and efficient to dispose of them. Unless of course the bleeding hearts are willing to pick up the tab to keep murderers in prison. :doh

This by the way, this is the opinion of a practical liberal Democrat. I am tired of posters who make liberals look like fools throwing money at problems. Real liberals are willing to provide a temporary safety net for fellow citizens having hard times, not everyone on the planet.

America is weak on law enforcement.

I assumed the question referred to innocent people, specifically, the uninsured that people cheered for having died. I thought that was low. However, I did cheer when bin Laden died. I don't consider him innocent. Maybe some people consider the uninsured guilty of a crime for not having health insurance. I don't.

I guess my answer to the question should be "It depends."

Fair point on innocent people being executed, that is the fly in the ointment. I am sure it has happened.

I think it's sad that anyone would celebrate the death of someone else. I'm sure their is some psychological condition for it. I can understand Bin Laden, but he'd been better captured and sent to an "undisclosed location." Instead we indirectly created a hero for the middle east! Thanks Obama. As for anyone accused of murder or any other crime, all reasons of doubt must be explored or risk killing someone Innocent.
