Are you expecting anniversary terrorist attacks on 9/11?

There is certainly a greater possibility than before as terrorists strike at symbolic times and places.
However, given the extra security measures and greater security placed around the US and Western countries, I'm not expecting something very big

Meh, its a possibility, although its not something I am going to lose sleep over, nor do I think it requires another war.

Did not find this response listed on your poll though, of even an other choice, so I did not vote.

Attacks from terrorists are seldom if ever "expected"..In a manner displeasing to many, our Homeland Security is doing their job....however slowly, ploddingly and costly...
I'd even say that the root of the problem is being addressed (our lack of respect for the Arabs and Moslems)...

Where? They happen all the time in some places. How big? And what kind of terrorist, like the ones terrorizing our border with Mexico?
But, I don't expect anything like 9/11 on 9/11.

Probably not, but who knows? With security heightened, it would be dumb. But zealots intent on killing others don't always make logical decisions.

Suffice it to say that I hope there's no violence on the anniversary.

I haven't looked over the intelligence reports of terrorist activities lately, so I have no idea.

Well, not Ahmed The Dead Terrorist for sure.
I meant something with the magnitude of 9/11.

I'm expecting the surface to air missiles missing in Libya to lead to an aircraft downing in some country and the USA is as likely a candidate as any. Al Qaeda loves to do stuff on 9-11. I think OBL's death may have hurt their funding and limited their options, but these missiles would be convenient.

I have a big party planned with a bunch of friends. We're gonna get a bunch of PBR, and then go up to Wyoming to get a **** ton of fireworks. We're splitting into two teams, and each team is making twin towers. Then as we drink our beer, we shall be throwing our fireworks at the opposing teams towers, the first team to knock them down wins.

But no...there won't be a terrorist attack. There will be lots of crap going on during football making it super annoying and ridiculous amounts of media coverage for an isolated event that happened 10 years ago; but most probably not a terrorist attack.

I expect there will be an attempt or two, but I feel doubtful that any major public attack will be successfully carried out. At least here in the U.S.

Nothing is going to happen. Their purpose is to sucker-punch when you're not expecting. People will be expecting on 9/11.

If another catastrophe is going to occur, it's going to happen on some mid-afternoon Tuesday in March when people are looking the other way.

Remember, we're still the big bad bully. You don't go toe to toe with the bully. You have someone crouch behind him so he trips and falls when he's not paying attention.

Sounds like fun, but kinda weird in a slightly un-patriotic kinda way lol.

On average, 40 people will get murdered during 9/11 and nobody will care. Its strange how terrorism frightens people so much despite being such a miniscule danger compared to the mundane . If you want to stay safe on 9/11, you should avoid the biggest threat to yourself by not driving.

If you ask me "Will there be any terrorist attack in the United States on [any given day]" my answer is no. And I'll give you at least 100-1 odds, provided we can agree on a reasonable definition of "terrorist attack." 9/11/11 is no different. I really don't buy this stuff that it's more likely to happen on that date than any other. That's media hype more than anything else. Terrorists certainly aren't going to think that way.

I’m not expecting anything to happen 9/11, and as others have said it’d make much more sense to plan an attack on an off day when security is not as beefed up. Also, 9/11 is a Sunday so the high-casualty commuter targets created by the workweek will not be present.

On the other hand, I’m not too upset at the fact that I will be out of town on Sunday due to a wedding (I live in Chicago).

Many Americans may see my view as cold hearted or unpatriotic but with over 100,000 deaths per day globally, many which are under very bad circumstances, I just cant muster a dramatic emotional response to a few thousand more people I never knew dieing a particular day. Sure I wish it had not happened but I cannot understand some peoples very emotional responses simply because they were "American".

No, I'm not expecting it. That said, were we expecting it the first time?

Al Qaeda is a shadow of its former self. They haven't been able to do much in years, and this is saying something when terrorism is one of the easiest forms of asymmetrical warfare. Islamic extremism is on the way out.

Oh, I forgot, Osama ben Laden was killed this year. Let's hope this won't have bad consequences.

Rest assured, killing the leader of the enemy is never a bad thing. There's never been, like, "damn, we shouldn't have killed our enemy's leader! What a blunder!!". That doesn't happen. I'm not sure what reality you see, but killing their leader is good - end of story. Any "consequences" will be whatever the shattered organization can muster from their death bed. Spare me the "OOoooohhhhh! They're gonna get us BAD!!!" No dude. It's over. They'll manage something eventually, probably, but it will be nothing compared to what AlQ was once capable of.

Not scared. Don't need to hope. They're dogfood.
