As a part of one of my political science classes, I was supposed to go to the website below and find out where I stood politically. This political standing test is not like many of the others I have taken. It doesn't necessarily tell you which political party you belong to as much as give you an idea of where you stand on certain political dimensions.

My score fell in the "Libertarian Left" quadrant ...

My political compass score was:

Economic Left/Right: -5.62
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.36

Below is what my chart looked like:

The site graphs various leaders and their projected scores so you can get an idea of where you are relatively speaking (see below):

It'd be great to see how people on Debate Politics score. If people could post their results in a format similar to the way I have done it I think it would be nice. Also, if you are going to answer the poll, simply indicate which quadrant your score fell in, i.e. Libertarian Left, Authoritarian Left, Authoritarian Right, & Libertarian Right.

Also what does everyone think of the Political Compass site?

Most people around here are left libertarian on this graph, theres a thread somewhere with alot of peoples results from quite recently.

Yeah .. I did find some other posts (see below links)

This one seemed to have the best responses:

This one was the most recent one I believe:

Only thing is none of these posts included a poll.

OK all .. just looking at the previous posts, it looks like this has been pretty well covered in another post with the results looking like the following:

crowd chart.jpg

Here's the link for more info on that chart:

Crowd Chart

Looks like there is the largest clumping in the Libertarian Left, but a pretty good scatter though.

I just added my name on the list. I think this is a really great idea. I just wish the graph were bigger so the names didn't blur together so much, but it's still pretty awesome. I think we should get as many people on here as possible, maybe make a new thread and sticky it, somewhere.

This is very interesting. I may have to use this in the future.

I can’t find a place in this plane. I think I need a 3rd dimension or something. I’m a design engineer and think about what I support or disapprove of from an engineering problem solving technique. No dogma. Mostly costs, benefits, etc. What am I missing?
