the rich pay far more than their fair share of taxes based on

1) their percentage of the population versus what they use in government and what they pay

2) their share of income versus their share of the income tax

and you ignore the fact that rich people are mainly rich because they provide lots of value to others

now you whine about the rich wanting to curtail frivolous lawsuits when those lawsuits actually cost each consumer hundreds of dollars per year in increased costs-from products to health services

There is already enough evidence against this "emotobabble" that claims that the government does not provide services which the rich utilize to their own benefits

uh no one has said that there are no benefits to the rich. what has been said is that the rich do not have benefits in proportion to their share of the tax burden and those at the bottom get tons of benefits for which they pay nothing

well we can start with direct benefits and indirect benefits

direct benefits can be anything from government handouts such as SSI to the coast guard saving you when your boat runs around to a governmental firefighting unit stopping a california wildfire from destroying your home to indirect benefits such as the CDC thwarting an outbreak before it hits your community to the fact that our Nukes may deter from country from thinking about invading us.

Lawyers are a scourge on this country...the people and govt included out of greed...everyone knows it turtle doesnt even have to be said...any adult knows how lawyers milk this country, corporations and dont try they do it for the common good, spare me.. As far as my inconsistencies...thats a figment of your hate of the working class imagination...from the day I hit this forum in march the lionshare of your posts are about the Parasitic seniors in social security and medicare...the parasitic poor....you insinuate everyone that isnt rich is a lazy parasite, You have railed on public workers are parasites...you believe that walmart workers should pay for the own healthcare and save for thier retirement....sure they can do that on 10 bucks an hour....
Now as far as my always being a liberal...I could ask you to prove that...but instead Ill tell you this...If I were always a liberal...I like it alot better than being around you and your buddies....and Im a guy that doesnt need social security or medicare..I can pay my own way and afford cadillac health insurance...but I know theres millions that cant...and im willing to pay a little more for that...Id still have more than i needed...but some people...never have enough

Good advice .. the posts to seem to show a trend of envying the poor and their hardship .. its almost like some people wish they could be poor and it makes them angry that they likely could not handle actually being poor .. almost like a disservice was done to them when they were brought up in wealth .. wait a minute, a disservice was may have actually been done to them .. hmm interesting

Fair enough. Next how do we assign weight? Not getting a welfare check generally doesn't mean dying. Not have the coast guard rescue your yatch and you drowning seems like a higher priority. At the same time, not getting medical care through medicare is pretty life and death.

but what we can clearly admit is also true is that the 47% who don't pay any federal income taxes surely use a fair amount of the benefits funded by the income tax and the 1% who pay 40% of the income tax do not use 40% of the benefits provided for by that income tax. the math just doesn't work out
