Do you think Obama will be reelected in 2012

Do you think Obama will be reelected

They are reactionary, talking heads. The only one I haven't seen fall into that description is Huntsman.

I would agree that Hunstman would be the best person from the GOP Pres. field for the actual job of President. And that's why he's probably not going to win the primary, unfortunately.

I became a sad panda every time somebody reiterates that belief to me.

So who is this Republican candidate you talk so convincely?

Just thinking you can put up anyone with a R next to their name is going to get you the same results the Dems had against Bush his second term.

Sorry...if it consoles you, I feel your pain. When I want to feel better, I imagine Hunstman and Obama against each other :)

Thank you. :)

I consider the term "elder statesman." He's the only one I've seen show any real degree of ... okay, what's the opposite of being a caricature?

I think he will win but not by the option given. Why must things be so black and white with you threads?

I think its way to early to know for sure whether Obama would win or lose. IMHO he could go the way of Carter, or he could bounce back from depressing midterms like Clinton. Incidentally, I picked him to win in a landslide, since I see no way he could lose in one. At this point I expect the election to be quite close.

I don't know if he will win or not. I do know that I hope to hell that he doesn't.

Lose but not in a landslide. Maybe 1980 not 1984.

Because Barack Obama, after all, is Jimmy Carter.

Because Barack Obama, after all, is Jimmy Carter.

Correct. And Bachmann is Sarah Palin, Romney is Wink Martindale, Joe Biden is Dick Van Dyke, Pawlenty is Floyd the Barber from Andy Griffith, and there has to be more.

My answer on that one is: the debates haven't happened yet. Reagan wasn't supposed to beat Carter either, and then Reagan mopped the floor up with Carter in the debates three weeks before the 1980 election.

What is it with you republicans with ALWAYS comparing things to Reagan beating Carter? I swear to god every Republican I debate with at work or in publican quotes this same exact thing. This has absolutely nothing to do with the present at hand.

If Obama is not replace we are all in trouble deeper than ever dreamed of before.

Obama has been a failure from the start and he continues to make the same same mistakes over and over and expects different outcome which makes him crazy, along with the radicals he has placed all around him.

The success of Obama has been limited by the attitude espoused by Rush Limbaugh even before he took the oath of office. Far too many people were willing to put four years on hold just to see him fail even though it meant bad things for America and its people.

Dems will stand by their man, Reps hate the guy, moderates will abandon ship unless economy has sudden dramatic rebound."Its the economy stupid".
Very sage prediction....Its The economy(unlike the idiot advisor who just said it wont be a big deal) its always the economy. IF the economy reamins stagnant or worsens as is poredicted he is toast.(moldy toast)

And yet you want people to make a guess as to what will happen? Despite the fact you point out here too much is still to come? And what is up with the really stupid choices in the poll?

The best if you are liberal, the worst if you are conservative. When the liberals want him that tells me to stay away

Maybe because Obama seems so much like Carter

if the things keep going as they are going, and the field of GOP candidates does not change, Obama will win by 5%-10% of the electoral vote, and much more of the popular vote.

You blame Rush for Obam's failed policy and incompetence?

According to that poll (and we all know how innacturate polls are most of the time), Obama still has more independents.

How so? 43% will vote against Obama

Independents play a key role in Obama’s re-election bid. 43% say they would vote against Mr. Obama in 2012 while 29% are securely in his corner. Nearly three in ten independent voters — 28% — are unsure. The president has failed to make inroads with these all-important voters. In McClatchy-Marist’s previous survey, 47% of independents reported they would not support the president while 32% said they would cast their ballot for Mr. Obama. 21% were unsure.

I didn't vote because I don't think he'll win in a landslide, but he will win assuming Republicans keep up their current circus acts. Nobody is going to forget it's their deficit, not Obama's, and since they won't cut spending on their own sacred cows and focus on cutting spending that actually gets spent in local economies, spending that has already been cut drastically since 1995, they'll lose.

It's pretty simple: Cut about $300 Billion a year off of Defense, for starters. Add another $150 billion in cuts over the next 5 to 10 years.

A Huckabee/Jindal ticket was the best chance for a Republican in the White House, but I don't think the Republicans want the White House anyway; it would only highlight their previous failures and thievery and why Obama won last time..
