If you had to choose one

Which one?

If I really must pick one of these two train wrecks, then it has to be Bachmann for the sole reason that she's not a quitter.

Wouldn't you want the one who would quite though ;)

Where's Lee Harvey Oswald when you need him?

Bachmann. She's more solidly conservative than Palin, and less likely to engage in the kind of petty BS that Palin can't seem to avoid.

If you had to vote and you could only vote for one of these two, which would you choose and why?

Palin seems less crazy, willing to do damage, and is less of a true believer than Bauchmann.

You know I'd be down with the Idiot Out Wondering Around.

Bachman would be the best lesson. She believes and will essentially claim that the US is an evangelical christian nation. Then the majority will then understand what the results will be.

what position are they running/standing for?

Is the poll to pick one for president, because I know some democrats want to vote for Palin so she'll lose to Obama...

I'd vote for Bachmann over Palin, because Bachmann is self made, not a quitter, and she doesn't struggle to speak full, complete sentences. I hate to use the word "ditsy" to explain Palin, because it sounds sexist... but ummmm.... what is a better word to call her?

Thank you. I am a bit surprised that so many seriously just flat out couldn't do it. I just thought about the two of them and seriously decided Palin was the lesser of two evils.

Also, I really hoped a few republicans would weigh in, but apparently they're experiencing the same sentiments. Anybody on the GOP would be a better choice than one of these two. The problem with that thought is that these two ladies are most likely, IMO, to win the nominations.

Hard decision to make. I like them both.

So did you vote? You haz to choose. I haz to choose, you haz to choose.

What's so bad about quitting? Sometimes one evaluates a situation and decides that it is not productive enough, efficient enough or is just plain boring. And they say "ok, that's enough for me, thanks". What's so terrible about that? Must we dogmatically stick to every idea we have or venture in which we partake - forever and ever (or at least the end of contract) no matter what? That approach seems a little crazy to me. People change their minds, situations change, and events and the environment must be constant factors adjusting all of our decisions and trajectories. I think sometimes quitting, even if it means breaking a contract, is best for everyone involved. Maybe sometimes quitting is bad, but is it inherently horrible?

I think elected officials have a bigger responsibility to stick with it than the average person. There's no valid reason why she shouldn't have honored her commitment to the people who elected her.

It would be the same reaction for Bachmann. The question intended was which of these two would you actually want to see in the White House (even for those who would be voting for 'the lesser of two evils').

no it wouldn't. you don't see a dozen bachman threads a day cranked out by squealing libs on every political forum
across the map. palin drives the statist lib nuts. she's not even a candidate and she's talked about 100 times more than
bachman. your thread is proof. palin is not a candidate, but you ask the question who would vote for her. and i gave my
answer......sarah palin.

Palin... she has better legs...

...and she knows how to use them.

Palin, because she's less likely to win. She has trouble staying on message and she doesn't embrace her public image, but rather fights against it. This makes her prone to not finishing what she starts, alienating her base, and just generally being an impotent (if entertaining) candidate. Palin is also a little less scary ideologically.

What if the vote goes to who actually lands in the White House? Who would you vote for if those were your two options. I know everybody would say abstain, but surely if you are choosing a worst case scenario, you'd rather see one than the other.

Do a search on this forum. Bachmann is getting lots of love these days.

Whew... that's a tough one.

I find Bachmann scarier than Palin in terms of ideology. But is Bachmann more effective than Palin? If the answer is no, Palin is scarier simply by way of being more able to get her beliefs written into law.

I *think* Palin would be less effective than Bachmann, even if she won the presidency. It is sort of hard to judge, but I think Palin's longer-lived public image combined with her inability to pick her battles makes her less effective.

I'd still vote for Palin. It would be a rough 4 years, but probably not as rough as 4 years of Bachmann.

Though I must say that if either of them were voted in, I'd very seriously consider leaving the country.
