Just random thoughts made me think of this and look up some facts on it, so I figured I would check it out here.

Do you normally sleep (really sleep, not just have sex), at least 5-6 nights a week, with your spouse? Do you have separate rooms or beds if you don't normally sleep together?
For military guys, answer for when you are home. I understand really well what it is like to be away from home for months at a time. This is more about not sleeping with someone when you have the opportunity to do so.
My paternal grandparents slept in separate bedrooms of the same house my whole life. In fact, it was almost like they were roommates or brother and sister, rather than husband and wife, from the way they lived their separate lives but still got along. They rarely went anywhere together. Unlike the studies/stories in the links I posted, however, I'm pretty sure my grandparents were not sleeping separately due to the way either of them slept, but rather relationship issues that the sleeping arrangement helped to minimize.
I tease my husband sometimes about him loving the couch more than our bed, but I know that he just falls asleep there because our bed is upstairs and he is generally too tired to make the trip up after work and doesn't really want to miss whatever is going on downstairs, where the rest of us are. I would probably hate it if I couldn't sleep with my husband. That was one of the things I considered a wonderful bonus to marriage, I would have someone to sleep with more often than not.
