And the invented acronym N.A.N.I

Good move forcing him to take it down National Association for Needed Information just "happens" to be his ex girlfriend first name.

What an asshole.

I hope she sues for libel now.

You should watch what websites you go to. If you're not careful, you'll end up on a list.

Nah, its just a site where people post WTF pictures. The place is hysterical and actually a very popular site on the internet (not 4chan)

According to the second link I shared, - go read. Lots more information. He didn't even know if she had a miscarriage or aborted, ffs.

Re: Jilted ex-boyfriend puts up abortion billboard

Neither her name, not her picture are on the billboard. Should all his exes sue him now? How do we know which ex-girlfriend he's talking about?

Doesnt have too be nor is that entirely true and the judge disagreed
U.S. News: Latest Headlines, Video and Photos from Across the United States - ABC News

his made up acrynym is his girlfriedns name and he doesnt even no if she had an abortion. He is a scumbag IMO and lucky he only has to take it down.

Re: Jilted ex-boyfriend puts up abortion billboard

I see this as entirely a legal issue and a question for the courts as per harassment/libel. I simply don't have enough info to judge on that. If she cannot make a legal claim of harassment or libel, then I have no problem with the billboard. Freedom of speech sometimes means the freedom to be an asshole.

Edit: there is another question here too: if you owned the company that owned the billboard, would you have allowed that billboard to be put up?

this remains to be seen.
But a Judge already ordered him to take it down

free speech doesnt allow you to harass or be libel or invade another person privacy like medical history, conditions, procedures.
Where did you get that idea?

.

Well, it's a bit unclear what the facts in the case are, but the woman claims that she had a miscarriage and not an abortion. If that's true, then possibly the billboard is libel.

If she actually did have an abortion, then it should definitely be allowed. It's no different than the billboards you occasionally see with women publicly shaming their cheating husbands.

What?? How is that allowed? That, and this billboard are definitely harassment.

Re: Jilted ex-boyfriend puts up abortion billboard

I can't see a reason on the face of the Earth why this guy should have to take down this billboard. No personal info, and if you want to argue the point about "had decided to not kill," he could have just countered that its his opinion she did something to end the pregnancy -- medically or naturally or with irresponsible behavior. He could also have countered that he was boinking more than one chick, so how is his ex to know who he's talking about?

Needless to say, the guy's an idiot douchebag, but I'm not a big fan of infringing on a douchebag's rights simply because they're engaging in douchebaggery.

Also, I want a Rape Oven.

Read the second article, please.

He's prime, grade A douchebag.

He admits that when the relationship ended, the baby was lost, but he does not know whether it was due to an abortion or a miscarriage.

She should have aborted that relationship before she let that asshole get her pregnant.

Meh. It's not illegal to be an asshole.

That depends. There are plenty of situations in which being an asshole is and should be illegal.

Re: Jilted ex-boyfriend puts up abortion billboard

I scanned that article before posting. I understand that he didn't say any of the things I said he could have said. That's why I was saying he could have said them -- in other words, he could have opened up his mouth and very easily defeated the BS arguments that jammed him up. He didn't because he's an idiot, but if he had he would've been in a better position.

Sorry, I guess I should've been clearer.

Anyway, I don't think his rights should be subject to how smart he is in explaining how and why he is exercising them.

Re: Jilted ex-boyfriend puts up abortion billboard

She's not some nameless, faceless.

I dunno. I just think he gives new meaning to the word "jerk".

Hmmmm.

1. Guy seems like a douche, completely aside from the billboard or any other issues.

2. While this is not something I would do, I'm not sure it rises to the level of a jail sentence in and of itself... unless it is part of a larger pattern of harassment.

3. This is a good argument for getting to know someone before having sex with them.... you don't want a sudden unpleasant surprise about what their view on abortion is, or whether they're willing to have your kid or support it. Try a little conversation prior to hopping in the sack. This goes for both men and women...

Bear in mind, though, that the street remains strictly one-way at this time... a woman can abort your baby, men, and there's nothing you can do about it. If you try to interfere you'll be branded a controlling douchebag. OTOH if you get her pregnant and she wants the baby, she can make you pay for 18 years no matter what you wanted.

Moral of the story: be careful where you put that thing.

His picture is up there, and anybody who knew they were a couple would then know he is talking about her very personal, private, medical, business.

Just what I was going to point out. His picture. New Mexico also has a pretty small population. 1.5 million for the whole territory. People know each other. I have been there a few times and it is small town mentality, even in the "big" cities. People know him, and consequently they will now know her and that she had a private procedure, an abortion.

I agree... this is harassment and it should be taken down. He simply should have taken a picture of a friend or model, and posted it. It would have made the point... a public point, about abortion instead of a personal one about that particular woman and him. He should take it down or be jailed.

All that being said, the guy makes himself look like a douche.

Jerry, you went off on the guy, but maybe he didn't know she was pregnant, right? Hell, maybe he couldn't marry her because she was his cousin. Ever think of that?
