Weiner is 45 years old not some 12 year old girl. He SAYS he's taking responsibility but not by ultimately taking responsibility. A person with scruples, any shred of class would just come out and admit it, say his resignation is immediate and that's it.

If we got rid of every Congressman and Senator who did something juvenile then they maximum amount of time each one served in their position would be lucky to get to the 3-month mark.

we do not have the right to demand he resign - only his constituents have that. but as a man, he should.

It's an argument against.

It's not illegal or against the House's rules to be juvenile. Neither is adultery.

Now he may make the choice to resign based on all this. But that's his choice to make.

Agreed. However when that same Congressman then floats out ludicrous denials, accusations, etc., and the liberal blogs back him blowing this into a huge issue while the lies pile up --- credibility goes out the window. There's a difference between just doing or saying something stupid (Which happens in Congress every day), and Weiners situation. If you're saying they are the same thing, you're being dishonest.

If the Dems are smart, they will throw him under the bus very soon. This is a presidential election year - and Weiner is now a liability.

No, he shouldn't. The people of his district elected him to do a job, and he still has a duty to them. He should suck it up and do what he was elected to do.

Same as I'd say with a Republican.

If no law is violated, I see no reason to resign unless there is a strong urge for him to do so by his constituents, and even then I'd not blame him for not resigning.

If its not a violation of the law, or an ethics violation that will likely have him removed from the chambers anyways, I see no reason for a legislator to resign. If their constituents are unhappy with it they'll either recall him or vote him out. If we allow he media to "embarass" senators into resignation based on nothing but embarassment then we walk down a dangerous and sad place for America.

No, Weiner shouldn't resign. And its a sad state of affairs that once again crap like this is the main focus of our political news sector.

indeed. When the republicans had their craigslist photo scandal, Boehner went to the guy's apartment and told him to be gone in 24 hours. Cost us a seat - but worth it.

You're the boss. Do you think you would survive that in your workplace? Maybe you would. Maybe that's just the way America and society is now. I have no interest in Congressman Weiner's private life. He and his wife, I think, have got quite a bit to deal with and work out at this point. He made this a public issue. He did it. When he lied repeatedly during a media tour that lasted a week. This is about trust. Do you trust what he says now? This is about character. And this is about the people and what the people of this country deserve in elected officials...

Do you know why Clinton was impeached? He lied under oath before a Grand Jury. He attempted to deny someone their day in court with those lies. People serve serious time for that, and Clinton lost his law license and was fined for it. He shouldn't only have been impeached, but removed and perp walked to jail for a spell, like any other common perjurer.

When a Congressman is flashing his dick on Twitter, the Twitter makes it our business. Someone can turn around and blackmale said politician for his idiocies. He could be doing this with minors, and he admitted he didn't know how old the recipients were. He's a Congressman, not some leftist from Hollyweird.

That said, I think it's fitting he didn't resign. It reflects well on the party.

And as a final note... I see you're all excited about the dick and his weiner. Perhaps you should twitter him.
