Your first part shows that after peaking, the unemployment rate has, as a whole, been trending in a downward fashion.

Did you hear the news today?

You do realize that monetary and fiscal policy take time to implement, and that he could not turn the economy around after a few days in office, right?

Yes I did. Did you hear the news last month, of 250k job creation?

This is like people who say global warming isn't happening because sometimes it's hot in the summer and other times it's cold in the summer. If you zoom out and look at the trend as a whole, global temperatures are increasing, but of course it will fluctuate in such short periods of time.

Look at his graph. Zoom out and look at the whole thing since the peak. It is a downward trend plain and simple.

You do realize 250k is not all that great, don't.... well apparrently not.

Good thing BO pushed that stimulus through so unemployment didn't get above 8%. :doh

Apparently...

Someone tell Badmutha that the GOP now controls the house... They be writing the legislation. The Unemployment reports today is to massive GOP sponsored public sector layoffs and cutbacks.

Thanks to the GOP at the state and local levels, Unemployment has gone up. Their plan to ruin the country to win back the WH is a FAIL, though. People have caught on an are tossing their asses out.

Your party is heading back to irrelevancy, BM.

Yes it is. It is exceptionally good for a recovering economy.
So that is why unemployment numbers have dropped so ... oh, wait.

.

Can i vote neither?

I heard the news today, oh boy . . . love the Beatles!

Humor aside - I don't have faith in any party to 'fix' this - based on all their track records . . . they're all part of the problem in my view.

Very interesting read. Further backs up the point that Reagan destroyed the American working man.

LOL

Where is this working man employed, anyway? The Service industry saw exponential growth.

Manufacturing.

Well - some of that wasn't related to Reagan. . . just time and place. Technology improved significantly. and required less workers to do the same jobs - as the article points out in several places along the way.

Everytime technology steps up someone is laid off.

Reagan gave extreme tax breaks to the wealthy and was a major opponent of workers' unions. Why do you think the wealth of the rich went up so high during his terms in office, but the wealth of the lower middle class working families stayed the same?

Technology does not account for such a major loss in manufacturing. That's just not feasible.

Tax-cuts to the wealthy doesn't affect anything in relationship to employment of the unwealthy *shrug*

I don't actually have a view about Reagan's policies because I can't go back in time and change anythign with my view or vote. . . so learning what happened works well for me - I'll let everyone else debate their effectiveness.
