That criticism of her was pathetic as well. However, you still do not have a good point. Unless you are trying to admit that Michelle Obama receives unfair criticism that is driven by more cynical motivations.

Unfair criticisms of Palin:

1) attacks on her family
2) flag on bus thing
3) being blamed for Congresswoman Giffords' shooting

everything else is fair game.

Why would the media "fight back"? I thought all but FOX was fair, impartial, and only reported the facts.

Of course, I just don't think M. Obama is any more delicate of a flower that needs protection, than Palin is.

Meh...as far as government waste goes this is a drop in the bucket. Its not like people will follow this OR care. People that understand nutrition are already making healthy nutrition choices (or not). People that dont understand nutrition usually dont (or cant). Its also a matter of perspective. In the linked article they already disagree with the inclusion of dairy per meal. This is just Mo continuing what she see's as her cause as first lady.

Now...if she REALLY wants to lead by example she will see a trainer and a body sculptor about working on that ginormous ass she is still sporting.
