I do agree that both parties have had a hand in damaging the nation. I believe the Democrats have had the greater effect.

Ronald Reagan called the people in both parties who believe the answer to every problem was bigger, more powerful, more centralized government statists. More and more I like that term. Marxism doesn't quite match. Socialism doesn't quite match. Fascism doesn't quite match. Statist matches.

I don't think it behooves us to think of this as a lesser of two evils problem. The lesser of two evils is still evil. I don't know which party had the "greater" effect; both expand government and its powers against the People. And regardless of R or D, that's a dangerous path to take. It won't get better till people stop thinking of this as an R vs. D problem and more towards the Government vs. The People problem it's truly growing into.
