Faith is not like believing in atoms. Faith is not like disbelieving anything. Faith is a connection with God.

Surely, you don't doubt that atoms exist? Do you mean like worshipping?

Doesn't everyone? Is that the same as faith? Not worshiping, faith. Worship is a deliberate act. Faith is a gift.

Since when was asking for evidence classed as preaching?

What kind of evidence would you accept? None, your question is a dishonest one.

I haven't read one that wasn't...

Faith is belief. It doesn't have to be about religion or God. It's also about trusting.
Like, I have faith you'll do the right thing.

Of course, belief in God also means, having trust in God.

Faith is believing without evidence or even in spite of the evidence, it is not justified belief until your can produce whatever notion it is that you have faith about. By the way, those that don't trust and require evidence or affirmation from science or reason do not have faith. Faith is a reasonable position to have if you are honest about it but, it is not a position based upon reason.
