A few things have happened in my life and I am entirely opposed to cell phones. I was wondering if I am the only one.

I hope so. We don't need more people with irrational fears. So don't worry, cell phones are not destroying humanity.

So now a days it is perfectly natural for two people to share a meal and never even really look across the table.

I can only hope as technology advances that I won't have to have contact with other humans at all

Yes. We used to do it using newspapers.

I get the snark, but my friend, that is exactly what I mean.

Still do. :2razz:

Damn cell phones. They're making us antisocial.

I worked in restaurants before cell phones were big. Then I failed a business and ended up doing it again for a few months a year ago. It just looks odd to see people sit down, take a selfie telling the world where they are. Take pictures of their food and them eating it then spend the rest of the time commenting on replies. It looks odd to me. All day long people stare at their hand. People can't stay off of them while they drive and so people die. I saw a girl get of a train downtown just a beepin and a boppin with her plugs in her head and her eyes on her hand. She got run over by the very train she stepped off of. People are so distracted by those blinky boxes that they completely give up the senses of sight and hearing no matter where they are.

I tell you what take a closer look. Everyone there is dressed well. That societal acceptance need is there.

I gotta say, being ignored is not fun, man. In my honest opinion, a cell phone has to do more with communication than newspapers. That is why you see men going to work on a train reading the news, but people who text a lot might be gossips, not grunts.

Nowadays if you find a girl reading anything but what's on her cell phone, you're lucky.

That is not the phone, that is the people.

Problem is it seems to be almost all people. I know people I like and want to hang out with but can't. All they are going to do is text, and try to show me stupid videos.

Unfortunately it sounds like you need to find different people to like and hang out with.

Lol, I can't really find people who don't stare at their hand all day. And I live in a BIG city.

That's exactly right, Devil! Just don't fall in with the wrong crowd (meth users).

I live in a small town and I find enough of them.

By the way, what are you staring at right now?

Try the city and you may not.
A computer. I have that and a landline. When I am out, I am out. When I'm at work, I'm at work. That is enough for me. I do not own a blinky box.

Most people I know have family rules about phones at the table. Maybe the problem is with the people you know?

Very likely. I mostly only know and am exposed to heathens. Church is my only safe spot and I'm half Muslim.

Pardon me for asking, but how can one be "half Muslim?"
