Holy crap! I sure am happy I never fell for any of this crap. This is absolutely bizarre.

Give it a look and Opine.

Summary: Gays, Muslims, and pretty much anyone not living the Bible is horrible and doomed. Find God, get saved, give up the gay, the Islam and all will be good. Allah is Devil. Jesus Christ is the savior. Standard stuff, just with a more aggressive presentation than most of us are used to hearing.

My take: Scary stuff. God saves? Well, he better get busy saving these people from themselves because they sure appear to be lost souls.

Can I just ask you about your religion? I mean what do you truly believe on?

Well, I have to agree on the bible to majority of these, but I think it is wrong to confront a person this way. The bible did not tell christians to do this. The summary commandment of God is to love Him and love other people regardless of the labels. I think this is the reason why a lot of people dislike christianity. They think that they can judge other people the way God judged other people.

You stated the word "scary". Yes it is extremely scary, but He does not save people just because they are different. As a christian, God loves everyone, and He condemns sin which is the work of the devil and not man.

I agree with the message to a large degree; however, the problem is in the messengers and the delivery. Public confrontations are not venues whereby you can spread the gospel and win new people over.

So, I disagree with their methodology, not necessarily the message. It is not for Christians to judge others. We are to reach out and teach the biblical precepts. We are to help others and witness to them. This age of the shock jock Christian is not conducive to any cause. I would suggest that those preachers seek out sound counsel as per the Bible and hopefully change their approach.

Yeah, even though I don't believe in the god thing or jesus or whatever, I do understand the logic behind some preaching, and I actually agree with it, in general, if it's done with respect. I even allow some of my acquaintances to try persuading me into joining their flock. They usually don't change my mind much on the belief side of the equation, but they do get me thinking on the philosophical side of it.

As for the characters in the video. Oh. My. Gawd. Those clowns literally get off on insulting people, IMO. The one guy truly relished calling gays every name he could think if. So, it's weird. It's like using god to insult people. Not cool.

I'm not religious. I believe in the God of Calamity, meaning pretty much that I am agnostic except I use my own version of whatever a god could be when I need to, knowing full well it probably does not exist.

I'm kind of cool with most of the parables of Jesus. Good stuff. And, yeah, none of them say insult people until you mentally beat them into submission.

It was scary to me because the self-righteous nature of these preachers, their complete lack of empathy, reminded me of sociopaths. And, I am sure they have lots of followers who now take a dark path because of them.

You wouldn't have liked Jesus or John the Baptist either, so what would you know? Prefer Hell instead do you? Not a good plan on your part.

John 3:36

God's Little Troublemakers

Excerpt:

"Why was John the Baptist beheaded? Was he a reed swayed by the breeze of political correctness? Was John one of those guys who wanted everyone to be his buddy? Was he someone who sought after his own well-being and personal indulgences? John the Baptist spoke out strongly against the corrupt religious leaders of his day. He went after King Herod and reminded him of his adultery. He called the Sadducees and Pharisees a “Brood of Vipers!” He wasn’t playing the world’s game and looking out for his own welfare and popularity. He wasn’t practicing “tolerance” and preaching a watered-down gospel that sends people to hell. He was preaching the word of God, trying to turn someone to repentance and salvation, and for that he was labeled a troublemaker and eventually put to death.

Why was Paul beaten and persecuted? Why was James put to death with the sword? Why were the prophets and the apostles martyred? They didn’t go after these guys for preaching love and tolerance. They went after them because they exposed sin, corruption, and idolatry, and took a stand for what’s right in the eyes of God. They were God’s little troublemakers, and the world couldn’t handle it. The world stood convicted of its sin, and in order to justify its own worldliness and unrighteousness it chose instead to kill the messengers."

Yeah, take Jesus, for instance...he went where the sinners were...he was "in your face" about what they were doing wrong, also...urging them to repent and turn around from their sins...he didn't exactly "tickle their ears" either, did he?

My original training and education was in the ministry. These last few weeks of watching the tv and now this got me to thinking that while I'm not doing anything life changing, I may go back to what I did some years ago.

There is a void there; ministers used to help people rather than to confront them. You know, they made house calls for those in need and helped people through one on one talks. Preachers don't do that stuff any more. They don't visit the sick, help the people down on their luck and give people the counseling they need when they are alone and out of options.

I'll let the shock jocks do it their way and see if God blesses a ministry that takes a different approach.

My opinion:

Yeah you can't tell me this is the words of the "Holy Spirit"; it's certainly a sword but no sword of truth. Just goes to show words are only a small part of any message as I not sure it's their position that's wrong as much as their intentions.

You can certainly have a tough message delivered with love and passion but the mannerisms, framing and phrasing give away the intention and it's not love, compassion and a hope others reach some salvation they feel within.

I would say I have great compassion for these people, the pain, pride and anger they must feel it's in their eyes and their voices. To me it appears they view God as denying which is so far from the truth. It makes me wonder how some can think you can experience salvation in death when salvation is always phrased in their own texts as in starting first in this life.To imagine such a heavy soul, that the eyes seeing enemies all about, a god who denies any who aren't perfect - how disappointing life must seem. :(

Actually Christ could be quite gentle about how he rebuked people, or sought to bring them out of the not so great paths their lives took them. He was also pretty firm about being judgemental...more than once he warned about it. He did go among "sinners" (which, as he also reminded us, we all are), but he befriended them and inspired them. There was definitely a difference between his teaching personality and his ministering approach.

Like innumerable other people, some at this very website, the man clearly isn't a Christian.

What strikes me perpetually as odd is why so many people feel compelled to maintain the charade that they actually are.

Good for you. Jesus is love bro. I was like you before. I tried to define Him with science, philosophical thoughts, and by other means of theories, but i just could not define Him. It made me extremely frustrated, and it made me hate christians before. Like, how can they define some super natural being without the word "faith", they just could not. Also, the reason of most violence and wars were because of religion itself. However, It came to my mind that He cannot truly be defined and that's the beauty of it. I remember when I was a child that gods are all powerful and could not be understood by men. It came to my mind that I was a silly individual who tried to find the meaning of God by my own understandings. I mean what kind of God will he be if men can easily identify Him. That changed my life forever. God is simply love.

Although it seems like I'm trying to convince you to give up your view and follow Christ, I do not. I just want to share with you my experience with Him, and the way He changed my thoughts.

It's cool. I like talking about this stuff, to a point. The way you're doing it is fine, IMO.

The best way I can describe my version of god--and, I'm not being flippant here, just trying to skin it down to a bare bones description--is that it's my invisible friend. Now, do I think this friend is imaginary? Maybe. But, IMo, that doesn't really matter. The human brain doesn't really care if it's real or not. I guess that is "faith" in a narrowly defined scope of the word.

God is love? He has a funny way of showing it.

My God only judges what's in a person's heart and how they treat others.

I would say that's a good god. I'm not sure what god these preachers are buying into, but I would say that is a not so good god.

It seems funny yes, but I would not care to what you feel. As long as I deeply feel it, and I share it with others that's all it matters to me.

So you are fine with your god giving children cancer. He's not a nice guy.

You are so far the most different non believer whom I ever talk to. You are very accepting to different views. All love bro.
It is good, like what I've said, I was like you before. I had my own theory of my God too, but I think it can't be an imaginary friend if everyone imagined it right? Nevertheless, it does not even matter like what you've said. Faith is something that cannot be scientifically tested, and your definition might be 100% accurate. How I wish we can share insights in person. I enjoy having a conversation with this topic because I believe this is our main goal in life, and it is not about the material success that most people are working for.

Why not? This life is temporary anyway, so why would I care about it?

2 Corinthians 4:18
while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

If you can't see the eternal things then how do you know that they are there? Name some of them please.

Bro, read my replies. I don't wanna have an argument with you but that's the beauty of not seeing things. What's so amazing about promises that can easily be seen and know by humans?

You know that they are real. Stories from an old book, not so much.
