I was recently reminded by observing certain behaviors of some members about what I have observed as universal truths of the human animal we call ourselves.
I merely use the term "animal" in a scientific sense rather than an offensive one.
When I retired from my last chosen profession I was privy to observe and learn much about people in general and what drives them
So without further qualification, i would like to share these keen observations.
1. PEOPLE WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW THEIR LUST. Sooner or later, and unfulfilled lust will drive them harder to achieve it. There are three main lusts people have. MONEY, POWER, and SEX. It all pretty much boils down to these. Their lust for money, power or sex will bring them out of the woodwork sooner or later. Most also like to enjoy their lustful fulfillment in private, as it heightens their pleasure without prying eyes. The chance at this also brings them out of the woodwork.
2. THEIR TRUE PERSONALITY COMES OUT OVER THE INTERNET in a world without rules or when under the influence of chemicals. The nice timid person at work that barely says hello to you will become a blazing troll when home and in a world without rules. We have also seen the T-Shirt...Instant A**hole, just add alcohol. Same thing. When the walls of society's morals are down, their true morals rise up and become apparent.
3. PEOPLE ALWAYS FOLLOW THE PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE, just like water, and electrical current. That path of least resistance will be the most traveled.
4. PEOPLE WILL DO THE MOST EVIL WHEN THEY FEEL THE MOST PROTECTED. This is the typical troll in mamma's basement scenario, or Hitler in the bunker scene. When people feel they are completely untouchable is when you will see the most evil they are capable of doing come through. Kind and well meaning people will be just as sweet with no effect. This is what makes them beautiful souls.
I was quite successful and in high demand in my last job, but it was one you have to make your own retirement from, and get out when the gettin' was good. However, I was able to use these four universal truths about the human animal to good affect, and it also was quite profitable.
Once Mr. X thought he was being very clever in harassing & stalking a friend's 16yo daughter. legal means to get him to stop were unproductive. rather than follow him, I followed his lust and he was reveled. Over the next few days it was fun taking snap shots of him with a special lens that has sniper scope cross hairs etched in it. One day he got an envelope at his doorstep with a few pictures of himself with cross hairs settled on his ear or forehead as he was going about his business. A simple note attached asked him to stop stalking this young lady or he would not like the results of his continued actions. You see how this legally was no actual threat to him in any way. Merely a statement IMPLYING he would not like the results of his continued stalking.
Mrs. C loved horses and also worked at the local bank managing the county's funds kept there. Someone noticed Mrs. C's horse training business was becoming quite profitable while the county's funds seemed to be going missing. It seemed Mrs. C also had a girlfriend. She was privately following her lust, which is just fine. No harm done, but she might be happier if the funds got replaced back in the account so she could continue following her lust in private. A gentle suggestion to keep all happy and gay.....(I apologize for the pun).
A gentleman with a heavy Italian accent in an east coast "family" thought his wife was cheating on him. Turns out his birthday was coming up and his wife was planning a birthday surprise for him by doubling up on him with a very nice hooker lady she knew. No cheating, but I had to inform his concierge so as to not let him know and spoil the surprise.
That business led me to know many new friends and also have them indebted to me. One thing about them, is once they give their word, they actually mean it. They also expect the same in return. They also owe me several debts yet to be collected.
So, the human animal is a funny critter indeed. Observed in their daily habitat they are quite boring. but watch them following their lust or when they think they are invulnerable, is quite another matter.
