Christianity.

At first, I thought it a dead heat with Islam, but the only Muslims we have a problem with are the extremists.

I'm not a Christian, but I don't see a violent Christian uprising...

First off, if a religion is true, then violence that religion committed centuries ago is no less egregious, no less damning of that religion, than violence committed by a religion today.

With that in mind, over the centuries, the adherents of "Christianity" have killed more people in the name of religion those of any other religion.

And I say that as a strong Christian...but the difference lay in that we in the Church of which I am a member do not hold those of mainstream "Christianity" to be actually Christian...which is why I use the quotation marks when I refer to them.

If one holds that atheism is a religion, that is true. But if not, then adherents of "Christianity" has killed more people in the name of religion than those of any other religion.

okay I can see that...it's just so...well...non violent.... and yet without violence or forcing itself upon others it is the third largest..what are the chances of some seeing the irony there

Islam, hands down. It is the furthest behind the social evolution curve, and is the easiest to turn into a weapon against humanity via a strict social control tool.

Christianity is easy to turn into a weapons as well. We saw that with hitler and his movement.

Ever heard of India? Indian Hindu nationalists can be extremely violent and have killed many Muslims.

No, we didn't. Just because someone claims Christianity for political expedience, doesn't make them Christian. You know, like Obama.

Really it is the height of idiocy to claim Hitler was a Christian. :roll:

I am not denying the potential for other religions to be used as a weapon, I am suggesting which is easiest and furthest behind the times.

We talk all the time about the culture surrounding Islam, and how they suggestively live in a mentality that is hundreds of years old. The merger of government authority with religious authority, usually by military might and under strict laws with harsh treatments. Many nations in the Middle East still have strict laws related to limitations on the showing of competition faiths (such as Christianity) and even limitations on women's activity in society. By every measure we can devise it seems Islam is furthest behind and the most militant about being that way, often still clinging to the idea of world faith dominance.

A muslim friend told me that obl wasnt a muslim and only used it for political expedience. Please tell me why I have to take you seriously and not him. :roll:

A religion is an inanimate object. Blaming it is intellectually pathetic.
