morality, objective or subjective

How is that 'objective' ?? It's what they think of it.. and that makes it subjective.

It's "objective" because they're acknowledging an outside authority as the basis for their determination of right vs. wrong, not because they modify it according their own point(s) of view.

WRONG!!!!
Objective means true regardless of the person. It is universal. It is not societal.
Unless you can show that certain morals are true regardless of the time/place/society then they are subjective.
You cannot redefine the term objective to make it mean subjective.

I am not the one who muddied it. I have attempted to clarify the terminology used.

No you have attempted to change the meaning of the term objective so that it means subjective.
No one is buying it you are arguing for subjective morality and claiming that it is objective, nothing more.

I am not arguing for, or against, any type of morality. I am using the terms in the OP. I am not claiming that morality is either objective or subjective. I was attempting to clarify what I thought were distinctions between two different types of morality. If this distinction was not what the author intended to convey, I apologize for my misunderstanding. I do ,however, stand behind my position(s) as stated.

I don't really understand what you are attempting to say in your position.

How does 'outside authority' mean 'objective'?? That is not a valid interpretation of the word.

You are arguing for objective morality but using an example of subjective morality and just calling it objective.

When the authorities said the sun circled the earth and not the otehr way around was that an objective fact?
When the those in authority said the world was flat was that an objective fact?
Objective means it is true regardless of what people think, believe or feel.
Someone in authority cannot make something objective.

Meaningful analysis of morality begins with the definition of Morality.

I did not see a definition of morality in the OP from Clax, I scanned through a number of pages too, but there are a lot.
Did I miss it?
