Is life better now that you're older (those over 40)?

I guess I must be still waiting for that "less drama" part of life, and I just turned 60 in November.

I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing as I had more or less settled into a stupor during my 30 years if marriage which was about 15 years too long, and so I have had a wake up call that has forced me to reexamine.

I have let people in need move in with me on several occasions , just to kick myself out of my rut.

in most common respects, it's much much better......i've accomplished everything i've wanted out of life, and then some, but there are prices to pay that I would have rather not paid, given the choice.

so yeah... it's a much better quality of life for me and , more importantly, my family, but it has come with a price...as everything does.

Is the quality of your life better now that you're older? Less drama, more wisdom....I'll be 45 this year and it's not so bad, actually pretty good!

Yes it is a whole lot better. I was around that age when I found my way back to God and became born again.

One striking thing that I compare from my younger days - there's hardly any stress now. Whatever stress I feel is what you'd call "good stress." There's less worries (I'm a worrier by nature - and that dramatically lessened - and now I just hand whatever bothers me to God, and ask Him to sort it out for me).

There is meaning to life now. A purpose.

I am saddened by the question. While I am content with my situation, I make less money at 49 then at 29 years. No retirement, very little savings but I m not afraid in fact I still have hope that one day my situation will change. Its strange, I should be very anxious and concerned. although my life to this point will have been much different than other posters. I still wait for a legal matter to be resolved though with that also I have no help only hope. wow im gonna have a few drinks.

I think having little to lose can embolden a person to the point where that person is willing to say or do things that others wouldnt. not just saying who cares ? to a situation but a real freedom, almost like whatever happens is alright Ill get through it with Gods help or my dogs.
