Witchcraft

What experience do you have in it?

Did you experiment?

What were your results?

I have no experience in any kind of witchcraft. I am curious to hear other peoples events though. Any type of anecdotal sorcery endeavor would be interesting to read and possibly discuss.

There's no such thing as actual witches, well in the sense of Harry Potter style witches (there are people who call themselves witches). Magic is not real, it does not exist.

We feel that we are in touch nature, that everything has an energy. We believe in the forces of evil and good, positive and negative, light and darkness.

Christianity brings it into focus for us.

Us? Speak for yourself please.

I've known two different women that have dabbled in witchcraft and scared themselves. Neither one would go into any details. One had a burn mark in her kitchen sink. I asked her what happened and she said "That's where I burned my book on witchcraft."

After watching 'The Craft' in school my friends and I thought we could be witches too but none of our 'spells' worked. I still think it's interesting and respect Wiccans but as far as magic I just don't believe.

Beliefs like Wicca or Voodoo are more religious beliefs than actual practices of witchcraft from what I know of them. I am interest though to find out more about them both.

Lemme help ya with that...

Hmmm…

I just used the Untitled.png button, and pasted the URL into the dialog, and it produced what I thought should have worked, but didn't. {video}URL{/video}. I'm quite sure that used to work, but now it doesn't. Your version {video=URL}URL{/video} works. The Untitled.png needs to be fixed to produce the latter form, or else something needs to be fixed so that the former form will work again.

Perhaps I should repost this in the appropriate area to report bugs.

You'll never find a Sorcerer. Witchcraft is a lesser form of magic. Whatever 'anecdotes' you'll be offered will come only from those with no comprehension or experience of either, hence the accounts of those that will oblige.

It depends on what you mean by witchcraft. 500 years ago it was placing faith in medicine to heal you verses praying, fasting and giving to the church. I took Advil it relived my headache. in that regard witchcraft is science.

Drawing pentagrams in the air with knives, um... i don't really think that will be successful in anything other than making you appear a bit off

I shouldn't, since I know anything I say on the matter will not be taken seriously and will merely be used for ridicule.

But I will anyway, I suppose.

If you examine most of the old grimoires, most of them involve summoning demons, demon possession, and the like. Most of the rest involve calling on pagan deities, or on generic unknown supernatural forces.

The most likely result of dabbling in such things is no result at all, and time and effort wasted... and the Bible says that God does not smile on those who seek supernatural aid other than Him. Some would say you are endangering your soul.

And if anything should happen... that is, if something DID answer your shout out into the Void, something beyond human knowledge, beyond the material universe... well that might be even worse for you, like a lost child shouting out in the jungle at night not knowing what might come to see.

But do as you will, you're no responsibility of mine, and I've already said more than I intended.

As the old Hollywood chestnut goes, "you're meddling with powers you can't possibly comprehend". That's the problem with some people, every time they run across a power they can't possibly comprehend, they have to meddle with it.

They only think that they have run across such a power. Self-delusion is a powerful force.

My problems with Witchcraft are that it is yet another form of religious delusion that while on the surface can appear benign, is actually harmful; The apparent rise in child abuse connected with inter-religious conflicts linked below being one extreme form of harm.

Rise in cases of ritual child abuse linked to witchcraft beliefs reported, say police | World news | The Guardian

Yes, we should all be as open minded as atheists are.

Hmm, those meddling kids in Scooby Doo will solve it :)
