A Sense of God[W:288]

Re: A Sense of God

What? You don't think they party on the otherside?

When I was at school they used to make us sing a particular hymn and one verse was about when you first go to heaven you spend the first thousand years standing around god's throne and singing his praises. That is a party that I am anxious to miss. Not unless we are allowed to throw rotten fruit at him.

This song?

That is a hymn. Not gospel. Was this a baptist school?

Re: A Sense of God

I said it was a hymn.

I know. I got ya. I was poking fun at the concept. I'm Presbyterian. So I was being silly at the expense of low churches (baptist etc)

Don't worry that is just superstition and myth unless that is truly what you expect-- then it might be true for a while.. A short while and there is no throne!

Re: A Sense of God

I disagree. Reality is often in the eye of the beholder!

That quote is enough for any reasonable person to determine that you are wrong. It doesn't matter what you think. There are universal truths in this universe, we can prove this. You are wrong. Reality is independent of humans.

Realty is dependent on perception. Just listen to several people describing what they saw, and you will get 5 different perceptions, which perception is the reality?

It's not the one that believes what you do. :)

Then you reject Physics. Therefore any of your claims have to be un-scientific. Therefore wrong by definition.

Physics. Isn't there a theory in physics where they say that an object is only real while you are looking at it, but the moment you look away it is no longer there?

Kind of. It's not a theory, it's reality. It's a quality of quantum physics: the location of an object, like an electron, or a sub atomic particle, is not defined until someone tries to register its location.

So it isn't reality until its location is registered?

No, not at all. That is a metaphysical concept, not a theory of physics. IT is a misunderstanding of the physics concept.

The one on the CC TV camera and/or cell phone.

There is a simple experiment that can be done. Go into your living room alone, turn your back on the couch and fall backwards on it.
