If man and his institutions decide it is just to kill by whatever means from abortion to executions to wars is he not defying the creator in the name of mans interpretation of good regardless of what religion he or she is? Don't religions write in clauses to justify killings like "kill or be killed"? Are we not told to follow the word of God as it is written by man? Is a military sniper more evil than a doctor performing abortions and how does a God sort this out? What would YOU say to God about killing a home invader?

This post is putting the carriage before the horse since we have not yet satisfactorily established, with empirical evidence, the existence of deity or deities.

However, if I may play the devil's advocate, I'd say in response to your questions that religions often make it point that you are obligated to protect your body from harm.

And since scripture is always written vaguely this can be twisted and warped to fit anybodies cause and or reason for killing.

Many mass murderers cite holy text as their justification. It, ultimately, is subjective.

A doctor performing an abortion may be, from one perspective, murdering a potential life - or, from another perspective, saving the life of a woman.

Vast majority of murders are not random and done in a vacuum of no reason. To the murderer there is typically a strong justification. So if that murderer stood before god - he would simply need to provide his reasoning for feeling that his only course of action was murder or else suffer harm in some shape and form.

And for many gods, especially the abrahamic god, he can cite all the times God himself killed millions of people for simply not understanding his vague standards and instructions as way to further justify his actions since man of course is made in god's image. Like father - like son.

I recognize every word in your OP, but when put together like that I am not sure what you are asking. Something very clunky in that very first sentence that my brain cannot process.

Which God are you talking about?

Without that information it is impossible even to start answering your ramble.
