Well, that's lovely, but I'm not judging. The Bible is.


Romans 18
26 For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Oh... I forgot, that whole tolerance and acceptance thing is for everyone BUT Christians. Silly me, to forget something so obvious.


Well anyway, I'm honored to meet you. I never thought I'd meet someone who could discern a true Christian from a false one just at a glance. That's an impressive ability.
 
I agree with Goshin. Adulterers should not be allowed to get married.

Exactly! And they defile the sanctity of marriage, as well as corrupting the very base of the traditional family. The core concept of marriage has always been one man and woman for life.

That's not true.

The bible is one gigantic contradiction. A true Yin & Yang.

Anything one person can justify, another can condemn, and vise versa.

The OT and NT are perfect examples of total contradiction.

Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone. Since everyone is a sinner, nobody should be judging anyone.

You don't see any difference in two people being in a loving, committed relationship and actual crimes against others?????????

You're the one who said NObody should be judging ANYbody. Be more precise.



But since you consider the bible an irrelevant bundle of contradictions, I don't see where "True Christian..." belongs in the title or concept of this thread. True Christians do in fact care about the bible. It's kind of part of the label you see.


But if the Bible isn't welcome in this thread, I guess I am not welcome either. Which is no surprise... but people who don't care what the bible says might want to consider their lack of credibility in getting to define what is or is not "Christian".

Then, obviously, people are going to be getting judged. Just not based on what the bible says they should be judged on. I believe Dragonfly took this notion as a given.

Unfortunately, one cannot live in our society these days and not see a pretty good view of where this is going. Although it seems that there are many who choose to remain willfully blind to what is right in front of them.
 
Fact of the matter is, a devout christian, one who adheres to the teachings of the bible, is going to believe that gay men and women are doomed to an eternity in hell.

The problem is, consistency with that bible. I believe it has a thing or two to say about women who cheat, as opposed to men who cheat, but that's all considered "old school", or "antiquated", and is, therefor, largely ignored by the very same people, like Goshin, who will preach from the exact same book, in some cases, from the very same verses, and expect us all to adhere to it's most literal translation.


Cherry pickers, in other words. And Christianity is like life...you can't cherry pick it. You gotta take your good with the bad. I've have, thus far, only met one guy on this forum who is consistent, in this regard, and that's Paleocon, who is, possibly, crazy.

At the most, the Bible says that homosexual ACTS are sinful. It doesn't say that homosexuality is sinful so gay people alone are not sinners because they are gay, according to the Bible.
