This may be something only I think about, we shall see. Lets say you are out deer hunting and see a Sasquatch. There is no season on them and it's not against any law to shoot (murder) one and if you were the first to do so you would be rich and famous. Do you pull the trigger?

If he's not attacking me? No.

It's toast.

Why on Earth wouldn't you take the opportunity to transform a long-standing mystery into objective scientific fact?

I guess I must be a white man, because I call it bigfoot.

Anyways, if there was a bigfoot, I wouldn't kill it just to kill it.

I wouldn't eat it, so I wouldn't shoot it.

You have to assume that since one has never been found that they have intelligence enough to bury their dead. This would also mean they have a culture. You really would murder one to prove they exist? Think about this.

Imagine your horror when you find out it was a guy in a gorilla suit :2razz:

Bigfoot is a myth, so the poll is a moot point.

No. I would not shoot Hillary. She's likable enough. Now, I hate myself. Okay. I'm over it.

The problem with killing a "mystery creature" is that 1) it is very likely to be just a moron in costume and 2) scientific research is not advanced much by the corpse of a "mystery creature" and 3) rich and famous are not likely outcomes once one is behind bars (see #1). ;)

Eh. It's a risk I'm willing to take.

I am, quite frankly, sick of hearing all these bogus big foot stories where the guy says that he "had a shot, but couldn't take it because the creature looked too human." If I ever find myself in that kind of situation, you'd better believe that I'm bringing home some proof. lol

If it turns out to be a guy in a monkey suit, I guess it's a good thing that I've been trained in first aid and combat life saving techniques.

Dont you ever watch beef jerky commericals? Very bad things happen when you mess with sasquatch.

I wanted honest opinions and I got yours, thank you. In the Native American culture this animal for lack of a better word is accepted as a real being that has been seen and talked about for countless generations and many have been able to kill one if they desired but to do so would be a monstrous act. I question a culture that would destroy in order to prove.

Interesting, you're assuming Bigfoot exists. But that is another topic for another day. I think I would stay quiet and watch and learn. To see what actions he takes and what he does, try to learn a few of his habits. I certainly would not shoot him. But once he is gone, I may try to trail him as far as I could with the idea of learning how to trap him.

So then the question becomes would I trap a Bigfoot if I could. That would probably depend on what I learned about him. I know seeing one, would be enough for me to know they actually exist and I am the type that would not have to convince others. Knowing what I know would be enough for me and as for others, let them make up their own mind whether to believe me or not.

As for trapping him, if I knew I could catch one I probably wouldn't. If I was unsure, I would give it a try. Call it a battle of the minds and of the wild.

I know they exist. They have been talked about since my people were people and are part of our culture.

So, would I murder something that might be human for money?

If the answer is 'yes' then I hope I shoot myself after I shoot Bigfoot.

Like Mr. Spock who once told Captain Kirk, "There are always possibilities." That phrase pretty much sums up my feelings on whether Bigfoot exists or not. I will never rule it out as so many others have done. Just because so far there has been no evidence, does not mean they do not exist. It just means there has been no evidence thus far.

When it comes to old myths and legends regardless of whose or where, I also think they should be respected. There is always a bit of truth behind them. How much can be debated. But without some truth, the myths and legends would not have lasted long. I also believe the ancients should be respected, they knew a whole lot more than what modern day man gives them credit for. I think one could learn a lot from them and follow their wise ways.
