Since The Word "God" Is Under Fire By the Feds Why Conscientious Objectors Allowed?

Re: Since The Word "God" Is Under Fire By the Feds Why Conscientious Objectors Allowe

Point taken. I would tend to allow anything to be said or exhibited short of provoking violence. And yes, there are people that get violent with less provocation than others. It is then a question for the police and courts. Again I would tend to think that people should be tolerant and not become violent, so the intolerant and violent should usually be punished. Frustration tolerance should be conditioned pre-school.
It goes much further than just frustration and tolerance. There is a reason this is a discussion about public schools and not private. For one, public schools are funded via tax money. Therefore, that devout _____ teacher who is espousing his or her views on religion to a public school classroom are, in essence, becoming tax-funded preachers. That is a problem.

Second, teachers are authority figures in the eyes of children. If you have a teacher preaching that the Flying Spaghetti Monster is real and will condemn all of them for not doing what the teacher says, you have turned math class in to religious indoctrination. I don't care what religion a teacher is, but they are not there to religiously indoctrinate students. They are there to teach things such as math, English, science, spelling, and the like. Questions of religion should be left to parents and Churches. Period.
