Burial Grave Sites Are Morbid And Waste Land Space...(?)

I want a proper grave mound when I die, but no sense in burying a poisoned corpse under it. Burn the body, put the ashes in an urn, and bury the urn with my sword under some stones. Carve me a nice plaque saying who I was and why my descendants should pray to me, and hope it lasts long enough for me to see it again.

I still remember my biology professor in college many years ago, saying, " It would probably be better to bury Uncle Joe in the garden amongst the vegetables, then you can enjoy him again every year afterward, instead of forgetting him at the cemetery."

Yeah, I think it is a big waste of resources, and only serves to line the pockets in that industry.
I agree that the funeral industry is a huge rip-off, but I still see the degrading of one's own body as an act of low self-esteem.

So lets try to exclude your self and my self and our selves and look at this issue toward others - as did that Biology Professor.

As like if your wife (or husband) were dead then would it be okay for some other person to have sex with the corpse? Some people do that.

Is it okay (in your view) to put your Mom or Dad into a garbage pile and let the buzzards feed on their corpse? That use to happen in history, and still happens today in some places.

If your young child dies then can the body be used as fish bait? or as target practice? or even as a food delicacy?

It really seems to me that when anyone wants to have their dead body cremated then it is done out of a fear that their body might be desecrated and being burned is just a way of protecting their SELF from being desecrated, and of course they can not be dug up at some future time either.

It is rather easy to say that we do not care about our own body, especially when you know that your next-of-kin will take care of our dead body, so are you going to feel that same way about your family members when they die?
