Not being a Christian I wonder since the symbol of Christianity is the cross with him dying for our sins, what if he married and had several children? Descendants could be here today. If Jesus was the son of god then God would have grandchildren and how could they function normally in societies? It kind of parallels the comment "no one would want to see Marilyn Monroe or Elvis grow old". History is what it is. I would guess any children of Jesus would not live pleasant lives as they would be hounded by people everywhere they went. Maybe that was the plan all along. It may be true today if he was alive he would also be killed for being a nonconformist. Certainly people that rock the boat today are not long for this world.

It couldn't happen that way. Highly evolved religious figures aren't everyday people. They are dedicated to God above all else, and aren't depicted as being normal humans with normal human lives. If he had married and had children, we would most likely never have heard of him, and he would not be a religious icon today. There wouldn't be Christianity as we know it.

Perhaps he did, but all mention of it was redacted from the record to make him more interesting. A lot of his life is "missing". In his time, for a man of his years to remain unwed was unthinkable.

I've wondered this myself. So much of his life is missing, what was he doing, thinking, etc. during that missing time? That information alone might cause Christianity to fall.

Too bad of it did exist no doubt it would be slashed and burned.

If Jesus had children, they would have proven to be difficult for Paul in his attempt to co-opt the movement and make it his, instead.

You mean instead of founding Christianity?

Rhinefire, almost all the posts I see from you are about christianity. And yet you're not a christian. This leads me to believe that you indeed are not interested in a greater understanding of this religion but are seeking, in a very perverse way, to shame, attack or otherwise criticize it.

It is a very disgusting attitude to have and I will from now on, boycotting all your threads because until now, I thought the sheer stupidity of them are due to a lack of understanding, now I realize it's due to malicious intentions.
You are a sad and very limited person. Do something more with your life.

If orthodox Christianity would stop being so super sensitive then there is lots of cool info about Jesus that simply does not get said.

As like Martha (the sister of Mary Magdalen) was the girl-friend of Jesus, as said in John 11:5 "Jesus loved Martha", and that can be known by the text that Martha is named first before her sister or her brother because Martha was the one. That also explain why Martha got angry at her sister Mary who was sitting with Martha's BF, in Luke 10:38-42

Also Jesus had 4 brothers and at least two (2) sisters, see Matthew 13:55-56, so Mary the mother of Jesus had other children.

And the Apostle Peter had a wife - Matthew 8:14, and the Apostle Paul was fighting his own homosexuality - Romans 7:11-24, and lots of things in the Bible which do not sit easy with the prudish Christianity.

There might not be any proven record of Jesus having any children / heirs, but the brothers of Jesus both James and Judas (Jude) were leaders in the early church.

Well - according to some religious theories he did exactly that.

They hid it, deleted it, and tried to keep people from ever learning about it.

All theory, of course.

People who rock the boat today are more like to survive than people who rocked the boat in Jesus' time.

Jesus was gay. Thats been hidden by the white patriarchy for 2 millennia. He was also black.

Just look over your shoulder. See that drone missile coming, piloted by a guy in another country with a joystick and a computer screen?

Blonde hair, blue eyes and spoke american english as befits the son of god.

The idea that Jesus was a white with blue eye Jewish man with long hair is rather unrealistic and baseless.

I cannot contemplate a greater personal horror then you boycotting my threads! (By the way your "Christian" training is showing.)

Rainman is in line with illogicman in that both seem to be super-huge-christian-extremists. Having a debate with either of them on anything Christianity related is pretty much pointless. It's a damn shame too because some denominations within Christianity actually encourage one to QUESTION their faith.

I'm not sure he was black I thought he would look brown and Middle-Eastern.

Yes, but it is rather certain that Jesus was not some long hair or light white skin Jewish man or with blue eyes - no, He was not that.

Jesus was not a Caucasian.

Short and brown and middle-eastern seems most likely.
