If the hippies style in the 60s & 70s stated a mind set of rebellion/non-conformity attitude does the shaved head look have a statement or are political and social statements in our dress codes a thing of the past? I think now we are so diverse no one wants to change the way we look to "identify' with a cause or whatever.

I shave my head and have done so since I was in the Marines. But I do it primarily for four reasons: 1) it's cheap, 2) helps regulate my temperature better, 3) I like the way a nice breeze feels and 4) makes my gray hair less visible.

That it's easier than combing?

Skinheads occupy every part of the political landscape, from the far left to the far right.

You can't tell what a persons politics are by looking at their haircut.

It often can make a guy look more badass, but they have to have the right demeanor for it, otherwise they look silly.

I don't know, but I have never seen this gentleman with a head of hair, and I don't think hair would do him any justice.

That's the word on the street. Probably why the local police have "pulled me over" half-a-dozen times when I've gone for a walk.

I bet he had a mullet at one point in his life.

I don't know, can't find any photos of him having hair. Some men and women begin balding in the center of their heads, other bald on their sides. My brother was about 27 y.o. when he began to bald in the center back.

My wife's father has the horseshoe and her three brothers have varying hair loss levels.

It is sad when women go bald Imo.

My bro used to go to the hairclub for men, I never asked how much he dished out.

I've seen elderly women with large bald spots and wondered why they won't pick out a hairpiece or something.

...does the shaved head look have a statement...

I think it makes the statement: I don't much care about society's conventions of beauty or place much importance on how other people tell me I should look.
