Only 30% of children raised atheist stay atheist.

And yet is all about eschewing the material world. I doubt many Americans go all the way to asceticism, but Buddhism doesn't seem to produce a greedier or more selfish attitude than any other religion.

Ehh, there's a reason why western bhuddism is popular primarily With the wealthy and executives in the west

Read some of what Zizek Writes about the Judeo-Christian ethic vrs the Bhuddist ethic, such as the "the fragile absolute."

In Bhuddism you eschew you're attachment to the material world, Zizek describes it as being able to kill someone without actually feeling responsible for killing someone, an cut throat CEO can eshew attachment to the material world, and feel better, and then go out do his Job as a CEO maximizing profit no matter what.

the point is you CANNOT be a theologically consistant christian and a defender of plutocracy and empire, you CAN be a theologically consistant bhuddist and be a defender of plutocracy and empire.
