Noahs Ark.[W:109, W:140]

faith is believing in something you cannot see,...that's why it called faith.

I know what it is but that doesn't mean its on the same level as factual reality, you can have faith in ****ing unicorns but that doesn't mean they exist. You having faith in something that doesnt exist and has never existed doesn't make it real it just makes you detached from reality.

And I know that God, being all powerful, could do anything even the normally impossible but that doesn't mean he has done everything possible. He could turn me into a chicken right now if he wanted, but obviously he hasn't. And he could fit 2 of every animal on a boat without food and somehow make it work, but that doesn't mean he did.

please dont compare god to unicorns...its silly.

you are not going to convince, those who have faith, and i am not going to convince you... who have none.

however if you and others are going to pose questions to the bible, then at least you should read it to get your answers, instead posing them and acting as if there is no answer.

I have faith I'm just not a silly literalist,

no your just a person who poses questions to something, and then does not seek the answers to them.

at least seek the answer, and then dismiss it you disagree, but to pose a question, and not seek the answer, but just dismiss , is foolish.

I have the answer, the flood never happened and no one ever built an Ark. There's no evidence of it ever happening, its not a literal story and people who do believe it actually happened are morons.

That's the answer

really?.......here is what you posed to the bible.--here's no evidence of a global flood ever happening and there's no way one dude, his family, and two of each animal can repopulate the entire Earth, you also couldn't fit so many animals on a single boat of that size anyway, AND what the **** would all the meat eating animals eat? Other animals?

did you seek the answers from the bible...no you......you dismissed without doing it.

thanks for the "moron" remark.......it tells me a lot about your statements and your mindset

There no answer to those questions, its impossible. The Bible is not an authoritative text on the matter its not evidence, you can't use the Bible to prove the Bible truth that's circular logic. If you can write fictional story about a flood, you can write fictional answers to questions about that story, just because its written down doesn't make it true! And you having faith doesn't make it true either! Reality doesn't bend its state of being to your opinions about it.

oh, its been posed , how did was the ark built, how did they fed the animals, ......in all my time, i have seen people ask questions like , how did Noah capture the animals.......if you read you find the answer to those questions......then dismiss them if you disagree.

please stop with the reality, truth, fact nonsense, since you have shown, your dismissive of anyone who does not share your thoughts.

Sorry that reality, truth, and facts upset your fantasy. The world is so cruel sometimes :(

the ark and the flood are not exclusive to the bible.

there are several stories of the ark /flood, from different cultures....they all make the suggestion.

so i am am not teling you its is true, i am telling you, the story has been around ,which predates most of the bible itself.

Yes there are stories about floods, even less mention a boat.

The problem is that floods happen all over the world, and are catastrophic when they occur. It comes as no surprise that ancient peoples all have legends of floods. And it is no surprise that some would include a boat, high ground, or a tall tree to escape.

Floods are a big deal, very common, and often very catastrophic. It not only comes as no surprise, but it is expected that ancient flooding events would become the stuff of legends and that cultures all over the world would have various flood legends. This absolutely in no way means that they were all the same flood, that is preposterous, there would be clear evidence of a global flood, evidence which is not there.

ok, if that is where you put you belief, fine.

however i find it ridiculous for people to ask some questions of the bible, as if they are not been answered ....and then dismiss it.

when the bible does supply answers to questions being asked.

AND what the **** would all the meat eating animals eat? Other animals?

Hey, God is supernatural. He can bring down manna or something else from heaven. Or he can put the animals in hibernation where they don't have to eat, and he can preserve their bodies too. Gotta love it! :)

If s/he's supernatural, then s/he has no point of contact with the natural.

Well, since God is supernatural why didn't he just build his own ark or, better yet, just re-create all those critters.
Seems much simpler.
But no, the almighty chose to favor us with, yet another, Russell Crowe starring role.
God works in strange ways.

With all the current hype concerning the new Hollywood adaptation of Gods novel (screenplay by some scribe with broken sandals), I thought it an interesting time to discuss the logistics involved in this story....please add as needed:

Material required:
For an estimated =/- 400, 000 animals of various sizes we can place the craft size to be roughly 4 miles long by 1 mile wide minimum. The required lumber to build such a thing might be approaching 1-200,000 mature trees. The timeframe to cut down and mill these materials (considering 7 able bodied people), would likely run into decades before manufacturing could begin.

Supplies needed:
To feed said animals for 40 days one would likely require a craft of similar size to the initial Ark as a storage facility for foodstuffs. We also run into the logistical nightmare of picking proper foods for individual animal diets and distributing appropriately. Obviously once fed the animals would digest this food and eliminate the waste product, which would also need to be removed at some point.

What an absurd claim. 1 mile by 4 miles is 100 million square feet - and that is it is it only 1 story tall.

I feel sorry for your children when you read them fairy tales.

When you make stuff you do go as extreme as possible, don't you?

There are approximately 6,000 mammal, 10000 bird, and 15,000 species of snakes and reptiles. The largest species count of land animals is insects. With few exceptions, snakes, reptiles and birds don't take much room. The ark as defined in the Bible had 1,518,000 cubic feet of interior. They jam people in tighter than that in some cruise ships.

I presume it means the animals needed for farming at the time. These would have been mated with varieties found later.

So the purpose of this thread is to ridicule Christians, Muslims and Jews and other religions too? There are over 300 cultures that claim their ancestors were 8 people that survived a global flood.
