Noah, Bill Maher Calls Out the Stupid

Learned about Maher's schtick early in his career. He learns just enough of what he's writing his material about to speak to other very low information folks. He started by making jokes about computer tech back in his talk show days. His "jokes", his comments, betrayed he knew nothing of the topic outside of a number of ignorant misconceptions. None of that has changed, he's still stuck in ignorance playing jape to the ignorant.

If that's your opinion, please explain where Bill is misinformed about what he has said. The video is on this thread, please, watch it and give a incident by incident correction of his comments if you can, which I seriously doubt.

Well I certainly disagree with him, but he is a comedian and I find it's rarely a good idea to take them seriously.

The latter. However, I would not use the word "appropriately." I come from a place where it is not considered it "appropriate," to mock someone's beliefs, even if they believe in fairy dust. (I just kinda snicker at them when they leave the room.)

Then you have a twisted sense of villainy if you think a person speaking their mind, rudely or not, is more vile than a mass murderer, rapist, and insecure asshole who needs millions to worship him to feel like a man.

What exactly would tolerance have to do with anything if it was only directed at views you agree with? If I agree with you, I'm tolerant? I don't think that's how it works.

Well some of us are less two faced I guess. Good on that you actually see the reality of the situation even if you're overly courteous to those folks.

Absent context, you could say President Roosevelt and his generals were mass-murdering psychotics who burned women and children to death also. (Dresden, Hiroshima, Nagasaki). But there was more to it than that...


But really, if you're starting from that point of view, I don't really see much point in discussing it with you. My time is valuable and I try not to waste it beating my head against solid walls.

I think he is now a political commentator.

No, I'm not going to review his twaddle for the low info folks. I was fed up with his ignorance years ago. He's not Jon Stewart, a comedian who knows the topic of his material intimately, does his homework and thus can make deeply funny observations. Maher is a hack whose material is the fart joke equivilent of any topic he chooses to ignorantly opine upon.

The question is whether his claim that NO liberals are Jews or Christians accurate?

That is his assertion. I think it would be correct to say that Maher's is rabidly anti-Semitic.

Bill Maher is vile for many things he says.

And just to be clear, if Bill Maher is truly an atheist, he is then lying to you as well when he claims "God is a psychotic mass murderer who drowns babies" - he can't be that if he doesn't exist.

There is no place for Jews or Christians to be liberals. They really should all recognize they are conservatives who are hated by liberals. So are all Muslims and Hindus.

Atheist = liberal. Everyone else = conservative.

I actually do consider the atomic bombs as mass murder and I hold Roosevelt and most of our country responsible for that as I do regarding all the innocents and "collateral" damage that we murder in all our wars where it isn't men fight men on a battlefield wherein all the men there are there because they are soldiers.

Whenever the Jehovah Witnesses come to the door and ask if I have read the bible, I tell them I much prefer Ann Rice for fiction.
