If You Were Given The Power To Do One Thing, One Time What Would You Do?

AH you're one of those conservatives.

Nevermind then, you're too far gone to deal with.

Hey, you tried to play religion gotcha and he outplayed you. Really though, getting rid of greed, a whole lot goes out the window with that. Get rid of world hunger, how does that work without serious consequences for our world. What, we all turn into a Walking Dead episode? Remember, it's yin and yang together. Nuke the yin and the yang is left without balance.

How in the hell did he outplay me.

He claims to be this holier than thou religious figure who is more moral than the rest of us...

For the sake of argument he then gets the ability to whatever he wants once and his reaction is to take political revenge cause he's pissed off about losing an election rather than helping people.

His ilk are those who want to re-interperate the bible to support his political views rather than allowing bible to influence them.

He's one of those who basically believes the bible is too liberal.

Charlie Sheen Syndrome.

Just say NO, kids!

That's just a few pages from a childrens book written and illustrated, Dr. Suess style. So relax homey, judging by your posts, I'd say it's you who's on drugs.

If some miraculous force gave you one thing to do, one time only to do of your own choosing. After you made your choice this power is gone forever.
My choice would be to end hunger.
Destroy two thirds of the human population, allowing prosperity and regeneration of the Earth's strained resources.

I'd make myself immortal.

Eliminate the desire innate in humans to have power over one another.

That would take care of the negative aspects of a lot of things, pride, greed, lust, and anger for example. A lot of those emotions can also have positive sides which would be preserved.

I would imagine without that, we would have a lot less of a need for much of the infrastructure we have today, much smaller and cheaper militaries, social spending would be better balanced, without that negative influence people would either seek to maintain the personal status quo, or some sort of improvement to themselves and/or others.

My choice would be to end hunger.

The ability to send everyone to a universe of their own creation so people could STFU about life and get on with living.

I guess you never saw the movie Serenity?

Yup...seen it. I guess you think movies are real, and are a real buzz kill at parties.

Taking the hypothetical opinion and fantasy into the realm of reality and negativity says much about your wonderful personality, and hijacking a thread to spew this opinion is simply bad form.

Great Job (SIC).

I would do nothing. Anything I did would have consequences; the bigger the change, the bigger the consequences.

Win the lottery.

There is a difference between removing violence and removing the removing the desire to have power over another person. In my version, one could still have violence, but for nondestructive reasons.

Oh another choice for me would be if I have the power to have sex with any woman I want.

Quick! Jump back to the beginning of man and forcibly and permanently implant a specific set of morals in their minds that they would rigidly follow. These would include; Do not Murder; Be honest; Always seek to improve your community, because it will in turn enhance your own life; Respect is necessary for a community to thrive, but it must only be given to those who have earned it; Obey your lord fully unless it can be proven that he puts his own interests before those of the country; and many other useful rules.
I would also give them a text of my rules and regulations for all men, along with a complete guide to early sciences and the human psyche. The texts would be in Latin, and I would of course teach them how to read them.

I hope that those don't conflict with the "one only" rule, as they would be done at the same time and are at least somewhat related.

That has already been tried and it flopped. Nice thought though.
